Part C|

A library introduced a digital information system for visitors. Staff tracked how often its pages were opened each week to understand changes in use. Technicians monitored the system during opening hours and responded to service interruptions. When one link repeatedly failed, they traced the problem to an outdated address stored in the system. Before giving outside volunteers access to the editing tools, the library screened applicants for training requirements. Later, an independent reviewer audited the records of changes to check whether staff had followed the published procedures. The library emphasized that frequent page views did not establish that all visitors could use the system, and that the audit had a different purpose from monitoring technical performance.

Q29. What was tracked by staff?

Q30. What was monitored during opening hours?

Q31. What caused the repeated link failure?

Q32. What did the independent audit examine?

A30. The technical operation of the system.

A31. An outdated address in the system.

A32. Whether change records followed published procedures.

Several shops tested sharing a delivery van. Organizers tracked the number of orders handled each week, while dispatchers monitored the van’s location during deliveries. When one parcel went missing, staff traced its recorded movements from the shop to the last confirmed handover point. The company screened prospective drivers for the required qualifications before assigning shifts. After the pilot, an external reviewer audited fuel bills and delivery records to check whether the reported operating costs were supported. Managers warned that the number of orders did not by itself demonstrate profit or customer satisfaction. They decided to review missing deliveries and staff workloads before expanding the service.

Q33. Which figure did organizers track?

Q34. What did dispatchers monitor?

Q35. Why did staff trace parcel movements?

Q36. What did the reviewer audit?

A33. Orders handled each week.

A34. The van’s location during delivery.

A35. To locate the last confirmed handover point.

A36. Fuel bills and delivery records.

A school arranged a project using shared science equipment. Teachers tracked the number of classes able to use the instruments over a term. A technician monitored readings while machines operated and paused activities when an alert appeared. The technician then traced one repeated fault to a loose connection. Only students who met the safety training requirements were screened in for a supervised practice session. The school later asked an independent reviewer to audit maintenance logs and confirm that required procedures had been followed. The principal explained that an increase in equipment use did not automatically show improved learning outcomes, and that a technical warning was not proof that an accident had occurred.

Q37. What did teachers track over the term?

Q38. What did the technician monitor?

Q39. What did tracing the fault reveal?

Q40. What did the audit examine?

A37. The number of classes using the instruments.

A38. Readings while the machines operated.

A39. A loose connection.

A40. Maintenance logs and compliance with required procedures.

Reading

FAQ|screen
