The town decided → the town’s decision。
  • 対象:reduce fees → a reduction in fees。
  • 限定:some、two、may、might、not necessarilyを残す。

A small library introduced a shorter online form for reserving study rooms. Staff found fewer errors after the change. However, the library had also provided clearer instructions at the same time, so managers could not determine which measure contributed most. They planned another trial before expanding the system. The director explained that a reduction in errors was encouraging but not proof that the form alone had caused the improvement.

D1. Which conclusion correctly preserves the uncertainty?

  1. The shorter form alone was proved effective.
  2. Errors fell, but two changes happened together.
  3. No changes were tested.
  4. The system had already been adopted nationwide.

D2. What is planned before wider expansion?

  1. Another trial.
  2. Immediate closure.
  3. A complete ban on reservations.
  4. Removal of all instructions.

A school offered optional evening workshops to support students preparing for examinations. Registration increased after the school sent clearer reminders, but teachers noted that motivated students might have been more likely to apply. The school did not claim that higher registration proved better grades. Instead, teachers decided to compare learning outcomes among students who attended and those who did not. They also wanted to check whether transport made evening sessions difficult for some families.

D3. What increased?

  1. Every student’s examination score.
  2. The number of buildings.
  3. Registration for optional workshops.
  4. The number of school buses.

D4. Why was a comparison proposed?

  1. Results were already proven.
  2. Only parents would attend.
  3. Participation was compulsory.
  4. Registration alone could not show improved learning.

The council may raise feesをthe increase in feesと言えますか?

a possible increase in feesやa proposal to raise feesのように可能性を保ちます。
