しかしaddress a problemは課題そのものに取り組む、cope with a difficultyは困難な状況に適応して乗り切る、respond to a requestは依頼に答える、handle a caseは具体的な案件を処理する、manage a programは人員・資源・運営を継続的に管理することです。
address the problem of poor access=アクセスの問題に取り組む。cope with a disruption=混乱にうまく対応する。respond to a complaint=苦情に返答する。 manage the staff and budget=職員・予算を管理する。

Part C|
A public library received complaints about its booking system. A support officer responded to individual emails by explaining the current procedure. Another employee handled each failed booking and arranged corrections when necessary. However, the library director wanted to address the underlying problem rather than rely on individual replies. The director managed the project’s staff, timetable, and available budget. During a temporary website outage, visitors had to cope with the disruption by using a telephone booking option. The director proposed testing clearer instructions and collecting information from people who had been unable to complete online bookings. The trial had not yet established a permanent improvement.

A neighborhood association operated a small shared delivery program. Its coordinator managed vehicle schedules, staff assignments, and repair expenses. When heavy rain closed one route, drivers coped with the interruption by using a longer alternative. Some customers complained about delayed deliveries, and the information desk responded to their messages. Staff members handled individual cases involving incorrectly delivered goods. After reviewing the complaints, the association chose to address the recurring problem of unclear delivery notifications. It planned a trial of improved tracking messages, but did not claim that a single change had already eliminated every delay.

A secondary school organized an information service for students planning future courses. Teachers responded to requests for details about the timetable and entry requirements. Office staff handled individual corrections to registration forms. The school manager was responsible for managing staffing and a limited annual budget. Some students had to cope with changes when popular classes were full and chose alternative courses. The school then decided to address a broader problem: students were receiving important information too late to make informed choices. It began preparing a clearer timetable and earlier notices, but the effects of the changes had not yet been measured.

The office responded to complaints. The manager handled one case. Residents coped with a closure.
