give advice on doing / a piece of advice。
make a suggestion that … / one suggestion。
make a recommendation / follow a recommendation。
provide ongoing guidance / step-by-step guidance。

Reading:A secondary school organized a week of sessions about future study choices. Teachers offered general advice on planning revision time and choosing subjects. They explained that this advice was intended to help students think, not to make every decision for them.

A visiting careers specialist reviewed different course descriptions and issued a recommendation that students compare entry requirements before applying.

Reading:A town offered a free workshop for cyclists. At the beginning, instructors gave advice on wearing helmets and checking brakes. The advice covered common situations and did not replace formal road rules.
Several participants suggested creating safer bicycle parking near the railway station. One suggestion was to move a rack away from the busy road. Town engineers examined the proposed locations and later made a recommendation to use a site with better visibility.
For residents who were learning to cycle again after many years, the center provided guidance through short practice sessions. Volunteers explained how to signal turns and helped each participant at a suitable pace. The town did not assume that a single workshop would make every person a confident cyclist.
After collecting feedback, organizers planned more sessions and clearer printed information. They kept general advice, residents’ suggestions, engineers’ recommendations and practical guidance separate when reporting the project’s results.

Reading:A public library introduced self-service computers for borrowing books. Staff gave basic advice on keeping passwords private and checking due dates. Visitors were also encouraged to ask questions rather than guess how to use the machines.
After a month, some residents offered suggestions for improvement. One suggestion was to add larger text to the booking screen. The library tested several versions and asked an accessibility expert to review them. The expert’s recommendation was to provide adjustable text size and clearer buttons.
The library then offered step-by-step guidance to visitors unfamiliar with computers. Volunteers demonstrated each stage of borrowing and returning books, but they did not enter private passwords for users.
The director explained that advice, suggestions, recommendations and guidance could all be helpful for improving a service, but they played different roles. The library planned further trials and measured how often users needed assistance after the changes.

Reading:Students at a secondary school wanted to reduce waste from lunch. The science teacher first gave advice on measuring waste accurately, including the need to weigh containers before adding food. This helped students avoid mistakes during data collection.
During planning, a student made a suggestion to compare waste on ordinary schooldays with waste during festival events. The group agreed to add this comparison. A visiting researcher reviewed the method and made a recommendation to record the number of people eating each meal, not just total waste.
Throughout the term, teachers provided guidance on writing reports. They helped students distinguish measured results from possible explanations, and students revised their drafts after receiving comments.
At the end of the trial, waste appeared to decrease in some classes. The teacher warned that the study did not yet prove why the change occurred. The group planned another survey and more measurements before presenting a strong conclusion.

普通の「助言」の意味では不可算名詞なので、some advice や two pieces of advice とします。
