- child → children:one child / two children(子ども)
- person → people:one person / three people(人々)
- man → men:one man / two men(男性)
- woman → women:one woman / two women(女性)
- mouse → mice:one mouse / three mice(ネズミ)
- foot → feet:one foot / two feet(足)
- tooth → teeth:one tooth / two teeth(歯)
- goose → geese:one goose / two geese(ガチョウ)
There are two children in the room. One child is sleeping.
one sheep / two sheep、one deer / five deer Two sheeps、five deers One sheep is …、Two sheep are …
文中に several deer were standing near the lake とあったら、deer自体は同じ形でもseveralとwereによって複数と分かります。
- family → families:familyはfamilies
Some information is useful. のinformationや Her advice was helpful. 数を具体的に言いたいなら two pieces of information や three pieces of advice のように単位を付けます。
scissorsは複数扱い、a pair of scissorsなら一組
These scissors are new. This pair of scissors is new.
数量を具体的に述べるときは one pair of glasses / two pairs of trousers のようにpairの単数・複数を正しく変えます。

- 動詞の数:three children are、a pair of scissors is
