英検2級の長文でNever have I…、Not until… did…、Only after… did…が読めない方へ。否定・制限を表す語句が文頭へ移ると、助動詞やbe動詞が主語の前に来る倒置が起きることがあります。通常の英文に戻してみると、誰が何をしたか、いつ実施したかが読みやすくなります。

注意：倒置は必ずしも否定語だけで生じるものではありません。本教材では否定・限定表現が文頭へ出る場合に絞ります。Hardly … whenとNo sooner … thanの組合せ、Not untilに続く主節の倒置、Only afterに続く主節の倒置を区別してください。
英検2級の出題形式との関係
日本英語検定協会の2級試験内容では短文空所補充17問、長文空所補充6問、長文内容一致8問などが出題されます。倒置だけの独立した試験問題が毎回出題されるという意味ではありません。実際の難度や頻度は公式過去問を優先してください。
