I mean …, More precisely …, Let me correct that …
- I mean …:
- More precisely, …:
- Let me correct that.
- I should say …:
- What I meant was …:先ほどの回答の意味をQ&Aで明確化する。

1|Should cities limit private cars in busy shopping districts?
I believe cities should consider limiting private cars in their busiest shopping districts, provided that they offer realistic alternatives. My argument is not that private cars have no legitimate use, but that streets should serve different groups safely and efficiently.
First, reducing through traffic could make crowded areas more comfortable for pedestrians and cyclists. This would be especially helpful where people currently compete for narrow space. However, improving conditions in one street does not automatically solve congestion elsewhere.
Second, better public transport and delivery arrangements could protect access for customers and local businesses. I initially wanted to say that all visitors could switch to buses. Let me correct that: many visitors might have suitable alternatives, but some people with disabilities or urgent transport needs will require exceptions.
Third, any reform should be evaluated rather than declared successful from the outset. Cities could begin with limited trials, examine journey times and accessibility, and consult residents whose daily activities might be affected.
In conclusion, targeted car restrictions deserve consideration if they improve safety without excluding people who lack practical alternatives. The objective is better access, not a blanket prohibition.
Q1:Does this mean you would ban cars everywhere?
Answer:No. I support targeted restrictions in the busiest areas, with reasonable exemptions and suitable alternatives.
Q2:How would you assess whether the scheme is fair?
Answer:I would compare who benefits, who faces additional travel burdens, and whether accessible transport remains available.
Q3:What if traffic moves into residential streets?
Answer:That would be a serious concern. The trial should monitor surrounding streets and be revised if it creates unacceptable harm.
2|Should schools encourage project-based learning?
Schools should encourage project-based learning as a complement to systematic instruction, rather than treating it as a complete replacement. Students benefit when they can connect ideas from different subjects and explain what they have discovered, but they still need reliable foundations.
First, projects can require students to ask questions, gather evidence, and communicate findings. These activities help learners practice applying knowledge to unfamiliar problems. However, a successful presentation does not necessarily establish that every student understands the underlying concepts.
Second, collaborative tasks can help students learn to allocate responsibilities and respond to disagreement. Teachers should still assess individual understanding so that quieter students are not overlooked.
Third, schools need to consider access to time, equipment, and support at home. I almost said that projects are equally accessible to all students. More precisely, they can create unequal burdens unless schools provide materials and reasonable alternatives.
In conclusion, project-based learning is valuable when its goals are clear and when teachers check both the process and the learning outcomes. I support a balanced approach that combines structured lessons, individual assessment, and carefully designed projects.
Q4:Are you saying traditional lessons are ineffective?
Answer:No. Structured teaching remains essential for introducing concepts; projects can help students apply what they have learned.
Q5:How could teachers prevent unequal participation?
Answer:They could assign transparent roles, monitor each student’s contribution, and include individual reflections or assessments.
Q6:Would projects work equally well for every subject?
Answer:Not necessarily. The approach should match the learning objective, available resources, and the age of the students.
An important effect, I mean, an important impact …
always/neverからsometimes/mayなどへ適切に修正。

Sorry
I mean … / Let me correct that.
