The library recorded more loans. However, that number did not show how many different people used the service. Officials planned another survey.

Paragraph 1
A fictional town introduced a mobile library for residents living far from the central library. The vehicle visited three neighborhoods twice a week and carried books that changed every month. Volunteers hoped the service would improve access for families who found traveling to the town center difficult.

Paragraph 2
During the first four weeks, staff recorded 180 book loans. In the following four weeks, they recorded 230. Residents welcomed the service, but the count did not represent 230 different readers because some people borrowed several books. A community festival also took place near one of the stops during the second period. The increased number of loans therefore did not prove that people throughout the town were reading more.

Paragraph 3
The organizers proposed asking both borrowers and nonusers about their needs. They also wanted to study transport barriers and operating costs before expanding the route. The trial provided useful information about demand, but it did not measure changes in reading ability.

Paragraph 1
A fictional science museum tested two labels for the same water experiment. Label A described the equipment in technical language. Label B used shorter sentences and a simple diagram. Staff hoped that visitors unfamiliar with science might understand the basic procedure more easily with the second label.

Paragraph 2
Seventy people read Label A, while seventy-five read Label B. After reading, each visitor answered three questions about what the experiment measured. A greater proportion of the Label B group answered all three correctly. However, people volunteered to join the trial, and the groups differed in how much they already knew about science. The museum did not measure how long each visitor read the label.

Paragraph 3
The staff described the results as promising but not conclusive. Before changing all of the exhibition labels, they planned another trial using more comparable groups and questions about what visitors remembered later. They also wanted to ask people who had ignored both labels why they had done so.

Paragraph 1
A fictional community museum asked residents to share memories of an old market. Former shop owners and their families recalled the area before it was rebuilt. One resident believed the market had moved in 1998, while another remembered an earlier year. Volunteers initially considered using the date given by the most confident speaker.

Paragraph 2
An archivist advised them to check public records. The documents showed that a replacement building was registered in 1997, but they did not state the final day the original market operated. The team therefore explained both the confirmed registration year and the uncertainty about the last day. It did not present a single memory as proof of the market’s closing date.

Paragraph 3
Before publishing interviews online, the team allowed speakers to review excerpts. One resident asked to remove a private family story, and the request was accepted. The exhibition contained fewer recordings than initially planned, but each included a date and a description of its source. The organizers believed that preserving different views responsibly mattered more than releasing material quickly.
