Town festival sound archive:

A local cultural center invited students to collect sounds associated with an old summer festival. The group recorded bells, conversations, and footsteps along the main street. They observed that the sound of bells was clearer near the entrance than near the market stalls. Some students suggested that the buildings were blocking the sound, but the group had not measured how the walls affected it. A volunteer assumed that an earlier festival had used the same bell pattern every year. When students interviewed older residents, however, several described different rhythms. The interviews suggested that festival customs had changed over time. The team also found a handwritten program from twenty years earlier, but it did not include a description of the music. In the exhibition, the students presented the recordings as direct observations and the interviews as recollections. They labeled the claim about an unchanging rhythm as unverified. Their teacher praised this distinction because visitors could separate what the group had actually recorded from what it had inferred about the past. The final display invited more residents to share memories without treating every memory as a confirmed historical record.

問15. Where did the bells sound clearer?

問16. Was the idea that buildings blocked sound directly measured?

問17. What had the volunteer assumed?

問18. What did the residents’ different descriptions suggest?

問19. Did the twenty-year-old program describe the music?

問20. How was the unchanging-rhythm claim labeled?

解答15:Near the entrance.

16:No, it was only a suggestion.

17:That the festival used the same bell pattern every year.

18:That customs had changed over time.

解答19:No, it did not.
