Paragraph 1. During a hot week, students noticed a long queue at the only water-refill station near their school building. Some were late for club meetings after waiting to refill their bottles. The student council wanted to know whether another station would help, but members agreed not to request expensive equipment without examining the problem.

Paragraph 2. Three council members counted the students waiting at the same time on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The longest queues contained twenty-four, twenty-one, and twenty-eight students. They also timed how long it took to fill a bottle. They recorded no names because their purpose was to study waiting times rather than individual behavior.

Paragraph 3. A student from the sports club said the gym was far from the existing station. Another suggested installing a second one near the gym, but the council also needed to consider installation and maintenance costs. It concluded that reducing waiting time was important, although distance, accessibility, and cost also mattered.

Paragraph 4. Instead of immediately requesting permanent equipment, the council proposed a two-week trial with a portable refill unit. The school would compare queues and ask for feedback before making a decision. The students knew that a successful trial might support the plan, but would not prove that every future student would benefit in exactly the same way.

Paragraph 1. A drama club was preparing a short English play for its autumn festival. Some lines were difficult for first-year students to follow. Hana, a third-year student who directed the play, wanted the audience to enjoy the story without knowing every unfamiliar word. She asked the actors to focus on the main message rather than memorize longer explanations.

Paragraph 2. During rehearsals, the actors identified sentences that sounded unnatural. They replaced several long lines with shorter expressions while keeping the characters’ intentions unchanged. Hana also asked them to pause after important information. Having revised the script, they performed the scene again to make sure the story was still clear.

Paragraph 3. One student suggested showing brief English captions beside the stage. Another recommended giving visitors a printed Japanese summary before the performance. The group decided to prepare both, and the teacher checked the translations. A convenient explanation would not be useful if it changed what the characters meant.

Paragraph 4. Twelve classmates watched a rehearsal. Five said the captions disappeared too quickly, even though most could follow the story. The club slowed the captions and shortened several expressions. The next rehearsal went better, but Hana still planned to collect feedback after the festival instead of claiming that every problem had been solved.

Paragraph 1. A school committee suggested a shelf where students could share books they no longer needed. Many welcomed the idea, but the librarian worried about damaged books and unclear borrowing rules. The committee decided to run a small trial before asking for a permanent shelf. Members agreed that a good idea needed clear rules as well as enthusiasm.

Paragraph 2. On the first collection day, sixty books were brought in. Volunteers checked their condition and found forty-eight suitable for sharing. The other twelve had missing pages or serious damage. The volunteers recorded the number of books in each category, but did not collect the names of the students who donated them.

Paragraph 3. The committee wrote rules allowing students to borrow up to two books for fourteen days. Borrowed books had to be returned to the same shelf. Labels showed where each category belonged. The librarian reminded students that the number of borrowed books was not necessarily the number of readers, since one person could borrow two.

Paragraph 4. After two weeks, thirty-four books had been borrowed. Nine were still out, but not all of their deadlines had passed. The committee therefore avoided calling every unreturned book overdue. It planned to check due dates and ask whether the rules were easy to understand before deciding whether the trial should continue.

Paragraph 1. A science class decided to design a self-guided nature walk around its school grounds. The first plan included fifteen signs describing local plants and insects. Each would have a short English explanation for visiting students. The class wanted people to learn while walking, without requiring a teacher to guide every group.

Paragraph 2. The students checked plant names against reference books before preparing their signs. Some suggested QR codes linking to longer explanations, but the teacher warned that not all visitors could use a smartphone or reliable internet connection. The class therefore decided that essential information should also be available without a phone.

Paragraph 3. Sixteen volunteers tried the route. Four could not use a phone during the trial, and five missed a turning because an arrow was hard to see. Some asked for printed maps; others preferred clearer signs. The students recorded these problems separately instead of assuming that every difficulty was caused by the English descriptions.

Paragraph 4. The class added a paper map and replaced the unclear arrow. It kept QR codes as an optional way to read more details. The teacher said the trial suggested useful improvements but did not prove that all future visitors would find the route easy. Another test was planned before the nature trail opened permanently. The project showed that useful information must be both accurate and accessible.
