|---|---|---|
| limit | 数量や時間などの上限を設ける | limit A to 30 / a limit of 30 |
| ban | 活動・行為を禁止する | ban photography / ban someone from doing |
| prohibit | 行為を禁止する(やや改まった表現) | prohibit smoking / be prohibited from doing |
Entry is limited to 30 people. Access is restricted to staff.
Students are banned from using phones during exams.とStudents are prohibited from using phones during exams. ban to useではなく、ban someone from doingやprohibit doingを練習してください。

A school library prepared an exhibition of student photographs. The room could safely hold thirty visitors at a time, so the organizers limited entry to thirty people. This rule did not ban visitors from entering the library; it simply set the maximum number allowed inside at once. The school also prohibited flash photography because sudden bright light could disturb visitors and affect the display. Taking pictures without flash was permitted in one area, provided that visitors followed the posted instructions. Some students suggested restricting all photography, but that additional rule had not been approved. One member wrote that cameras were completely banned throughout the library. The teacher corrected the statement because the restriction applied only to flash photography and to certain areas. Visitors were asked to check the signs before taking photographs. The committee planned to review the rules after the first day and collect feedback about crowding. The exhibition had been prepared, but the results of the new entry system were not yet known. The report separated limits on numbers, a specific prohibition and a proposed restriction that had not been adopted.
Thirty.
Using flash photography.
解答:No.
解答:No.
Read B|
Read B|
For a school science event, teachers prepared several areas with different access rules. The main exhibition room was open to visitors. The laboratory was restricted to staff members and registered student assistants because it contained equipment that required supervision. A nearby storage room was off-limits to everyone during the event, including the student assistants, while repairs were taking place. Visitors were asked not to enter either area without permission. One student described these arrangements as a complete ban on entry to the whole science building. The teacher explained that this was incorrect: visitors could still enter the main exhibition room, and certain authorized people could enter the laboratory. The safety officer also considered limiting each laboratory demonstration to ten minutes, but the committee had not yet approved this new time limit. Before the event, teachers inspected the equipment and checked the room signs. They planned to explain the rules in a short announcement. The final report distinguished what was open, what was restricted to specific people and what was prohibited for everyone. It also clearly marked the proposed time restriction as undecided.
Q37. Read B|
Staff and registered student assistants.
