対象：中高一貫校の中学2年生・NEW TREASURE Stage2学習者。学校指定の版・授業進度・定期テスト範囲を優先してください。本稿は慶英会独自教材で、教科書・Workbookの本文・問題は使用していません。
結論：目的格の関係代名詞を省略した文でも、動詞が必要とする前置詞を消してはいけません。the friend I talked to（話した友達）、the music I listened to（聞いた音楽）を、元の2文に戻して理解しましょう。

元の動詞＋前置詞を先に確認する
①I talked to my friend.（友達と話しました。）→the friend (who/that) I talked to（話した友達）。②We stayed at the hotel.（そのホテルに滞在しました。）→the hotel (which/that) we stayed at（滞在したホテル）。③I listened to the song.（その曲を聴きました。）→the song (which/that) I listened to（聴いた曲）。
the book I readはread a bookなので前置詞不要です。関係代名詞の省略と前置詞の省略は別問題だと覚えます。前置詞を関係代名詞の前に置くin whichなどの形式もありますが、本教材では中学英作文でよく使う末尾型を練習します。

④和文英訳（19〜24）
- これが昨日話した友達です。

はい。例えばthe song (which) I listened toではwhichは省略できてもlisten toのtoは残ります。
