I prefer tea to coffeeはthanを使わない基本形

I prefer tea than coffee.は学校英文法の基本形として不適切です。I prefer tea to coffee.を使います。ただし英語にはprefer A rather than Bなど別の構文もあるため、「preferという文字があればthanは絶対に存在しない」と覚えないようにしてください。

I’dはこの文脈でI wouldの短縮です。I’d prefer to read.とI’d rather read.ではほぼ同じ希望を示せますが、後ろの形が違うことが重要です。
