栄光学園公式「よくある質問」は、中学で英語週7時間を確保し、中2〜高2全員にGTECを受検させることを説明しています。「6年間の教育・教科紹介」では英語1を文法・語法・読解、英語2を聴く・話す・書く運用、英語3を発展内容・表現活動とし、担当教員独自教材も用いると説明しています。学校は中1・中2の一部で習熟度別のクラス分けを行うとは示していません。

ベネッセ公式「GTEC問題サンプル」によるとReadingでは短文文脈理解、情報検索・概要把握、要点理解などを測定し、レベルで問題数・時間が変わります。実際の学校指定の受検タイプと試験の指示を優先してください。公式「テスト概要」ではCoreは概ね中2〜中3、Basicは中3〜高2、Advancedは高1〜高3のレベル向けとされますが、中2でCoreが必ず指定されるという意味ではありません。公式情報確認日：2026年11月4日。

GTEC Readingの3つの情報処理｜学校の英語1と接続

• A：短文の文脈理解。文法だけでなく、because・but・however・beforeなどで文意がどう変わるかを把握する。
• B：必要な情報を検索。料金・時間・対象年齢・予約期限がどの活動に適用されるか素早く探す。
• C：要点・根拠を理解。長文の主張、調査で測定した内容、測定していない結論を区別する。

英語1で学んだ文法や語彙を、長文の中の論理関係に使うことが重要です。英語2・3の表現活動は情報を伝える経験として役立ちますが、読解で必要なのは出題された文章の根拠を正確に示す力です。

独自長文1：架空の学校図書室で延長開館を検証する（問21〜30）

全文：A fictional school was considering keeping its library open until six instead of five on certain weekdays. Supporters said that students would have more time to study after club activities. To find out whether students wanted the change, a committee asked fifty students to complete a short survey. Thirty-two said they would use the library after five, twelve said they would not, and six did not answer the question. One student claimed that extending the hours would definitely improve everyone’s grades. However, the survey did not include examination results or ask librarians about the extra work. Other students pointed out that the library was also crowded at lunchtime. The committee proposed trying the later closing time on Tuesdays and Thursdays for three weeks. They planned to record how many students attended after five and ask staff about their workload. The principal had not approved the trial yet, so the committee was not allowed to announce a new closing time as a confirmed rule.

独自長文2：小さな環境プロジェクトで結果と原因を区別する（問31〜40）

全文：A group of students at a fictional middle school wanted to compare two ways of helping plants grow. They planted the same kind of seeds in two boxes. Box A was placed near a sunny window, while Box B was close to a wall. The students measured each plant on Fridays for four weeks. They recorded that plants in Box A were taller on average at the end of the study. One student immediately concluded that sunlight was the only reason for the difference. However, another student noticed that the plants in Box A had also received more water because a different group cared for them. The teacher explained that the result showed a difference in height but did not prove its cause. To make a fairer comparison, the class planned another experiment in which all plants would receive the same amount of water. They also decided to keep records of temperature and sunlight. The class wanted to share its findings at a community science exhibition, but the teacher asked students to present the first result as an observation rather than a proven explanation.
