英文要約に lost to follow-up（追跡調査で連絡・結果が得られなくなった）と書かれていても、その人が講座を辞めた・効果がなかったという意味とは限りません。missing outcome（結果が欠測）とcompleted course（講座を修了）は別です。調査開始時の人数と最終結果が得られた人数を分け、欠測者をゼロ点や失敗者として扱わないようにしましょう。

研究を読み違えない4原則
- lost to follow-up は追跡時点の結果が得られないこと。講座の退会・辞退と必ずしも同じでない。
- missing outcomes は結果の欠測であり、ゼロ点・不合格の証拠ではない。
- analysis sample は実際に分析した対象。開始集団の一部だけならその範囲を明記する。
- 追跡から抜けた人の特徴が違う可能性があり、観測できた人だけの結果を全員へそのまま一般化しない。

誤要約：
Ten students were lost to follow-up, so all ten failed the writing course.
改善した英文：
Ten students had no follow-up results; the report did not establish their course completion or examination performance.
解説：追跡不能は結果不明を意味し、失敗が判明したことではありません。
