Visitors increased, but morning numbers stayed the same. probably / may / suggest のような控えめな結論と、always / never / all / only のような強い断定を区別しましょう。

At Greenfield School, students used to replace broken classroom items with new products. Last spring, a teacher started a repair workshop after noticing how many lamps and chairs were being thrown away. Students first learned to examine damaged objects and decide whether they could be fixed safely. They were not allowed to repair electrical items without an adult. During the first term, the group repaired twenty chairs and several bookshelves. The school spent less money on replacements, and some students became interested in learning practical skills. However, the workshop still buys new parts when repairs are unsafe or too expensive. The teacher says that repairing something is not always the best answer; students must think about safety, cost, and how long the object will last.

設問13:What was one reason the workshop began?

A. Students requested more homework

B. Many usable items were being discarded。C. The school wanted to close its classrooms

設問14:Why are adults needed for some repairs?

A. To protect students from danger

B. To make all repairs slower。C. To stop students learning

設問15:Which statement best reflects the teacher’s view?

A. Repairing is always cheaper

B. New products should never be bought。C. Repair decisions require several considerations

設問16:What changed besides the school’s spending?

A. Some students developed an interest in practical work

B. The school bought twenty chairs。C. All lessons moved outdoors

Several parks in Eastport installed drinking-water stations last year. The city hoped visitors would refill their bottles instead of buying drinks in single-use plastic containers. After six months, volunteers counted fewer discarded bottles near two busy parks. However, the city explained that this alone did not prove the stations caused the decrease. A local clean-up group had also begun visiting the parks more frequently. To understand the results better, the city will compare the number of refills, litter collected, and park visitors across different seasons. The stations are free to use, but maintenance costs money. Officials will decide whether to install more after examining both the environmental benefits and the costs.

設問17:Why can the city not yet claim the stations caused the reduction?

A. The parks were closed

B. Other changes may have affected the count。C. No volunteers visited

設問18:Which additional information would be useful?

A. Seasonal numbers of visitors and bottle refills

B. The mayor’s favorite drink。C. The color of every park bench

設問19:Which is the best conclusion about expansion?

A. Expansion has already been approved

設問20:What is the author’s main emphasis?

A. Water stations are dangerous

B. Evidence should be interpreted carefully。C. Visitors should never drink water
