英検準2級プラスのリスニングは、各問1回の放送です。聞こえた英文を全部書き取ろうとして選択肢を読む時間がなくなる、時刻や場所をメモしたのに変更後の情報を見落とす、説明文のメモが長くなって結論を聞けない――そんな中高一貫校の中1・中2生向けに、メモの量と目的を整理します。メモは英文を書き写すためではなく、あとで選択肢を照合するために「変化・条件・結論」を短く残す道具です。全てをメモする必要はありません。
英検協会の準2級プラス公式試験内容では、リスニングは会話の内容一致15問と文の内容一致15問で、どちらも放送は1回です。会話・文章の詳細は級に応じて異なります。本記事はメモの取り方を練習する慶英会独自教材で、公式問題の転載や公式のメモ必須ルールを示すものではありません。
結論｜メモに残すのは3種類だけ
- 変更：最初の予定→最終決定（3時→4時、入口→図書館横）。
- 条件・例外：if、unless、but、however、onlyなどの後にある条件や制約。
- 理由・結論：なぜその選択をしたか、話し手が最終的に何をするか。
例えば「meeting moved to four」「meet by library」「rain→bus」のように、主語や文全体を書かず、意味を自分が理解できる短い語句にします。略語を使ってもかまいませんが、あとから読み返して自分でも意味が分からなくなる略し方は避けます。メモが必要かどうかは問題や本人の記憶力によって異なり、メモせず選択肢を見ながら聞く方がよい人もいます。
やってはいけないメモ3パターン
- 全文を書き取る：音声と同じ速度で書くことに集中して、次の情報や設問を逃す。
- 最初の情報だけ書く：変更前の時刻・場所を残し、however・no・insteadの後の最終決定を落とす。
- 情報を混ぜる：別の人の予定、別の交通手段、例外条件を一つのメモにしてしまう。

選択肢を先に確認し、英文台本を見ずに一度だけ読み上げてもらいます。問題を解いた後、メモに何を残したか照合して、必要な情報だけを選べているか振り返りましょう。

メモを使うかどうかを判断する
練習では、同じ形式の問題を「メモあり」と「メモなし」で解き、正答率と集中しやすさを比べます。メモありの方が正答しやすくても、書く時間に注意が取られて他の問題の理解が落ちていないかも確認します。逆に、時刻・場所・理由の変更をよく混同する人は、その情報だけ記録すると改善する場合があります。
- 初回：メモなしで解き、失点した情報を分類する。
- 2回目：数字・否定・変更・理由だけメモして解く。
- 比較：正答の増減だけでなく、聞き漏らし・書くことへの集中・選択肢の確認時間も記録する。
- 本番前：最も安定する方法を決め、当日に新しいメモ方式を試さない。
よくある質問
リスニングでは必ずメモを取るべきですか？
必須とは限りません。メモで内容が整理できる人もいれば、書くことに集中して聞き落とす人もいます。複数の練習問題でメモあり・なしを比べ、自分に合う方法を選んでください。
何語くらいメモすればいいですか？
公式の指定語数はありません。変更・条件・結論など、選択肢を照合するための要点だけを短く残します。
全部書き取れないと不合格ですか？
全文を書き取る必要はありません。設問が求める情報と、答えを決める根拠を聞き取ることを優先してください。
選択肢は放送前に読んだ方がいいですか？
読む時間が与えられている範囲で、選択肢の違いを把握すると聞くべき情報を整理できます。ただし、選択肢を読むことに集中しすぎて音声を逃さないようにします。
