英検準2級の単語が覚えられない人へ｜意味だけ暗記をやめる5段階・独自40問

結論｜準2級の単語は「日本語1語＝英語1語」だけで覚えない

英検準2級の単語が覚えられないときは、暗記量を増やす前に「覚え方」を変えるのが先です。単語の意味だけを見て覚えるのではなく、①意味、②品詞、③一緒に使う語、④文中での意味、⑤自分で使う、の5段階で確認します。

準2級の公式試験では、Readingに短文の語句空所補充15問、会話文空所補充5問、長文語句空所補充2問、長文内容一致7問があります。つまり、単語帳の意味を知っているだけでなく、文脈の中で適切な語句を選べることが重要です。日本英語検定協会・準2級の試験内容を基準に確認してください（2026年11月2日確認）。

以下は慶英会独自の練習問題です。公式過去問の転載ではありません。

5段階の覚え方

1. 意味：基本の日本語訳を確認する。
2. 品詞：名詞・動詞・形容詞・副詞などを確認する。
3. 結び付き：interested in、take part inなど、前後の語まで覚える。
4. 文脈：英文中でその語がどんな意味になっているか判断する。
5. 運用：自分の英文を1文作り、音読する。

例えば available を「利用できる」とだけ暗記するより、Tickets are available online. のように文で覚えれば、be available、online、名詞との関係まで一緒に復習できます。

独自40問｜語彙・熟語・語法を文脈で判断する

まず1〜20を解き、答え合わせ後に21〜40へ進みます。知らなかった語だけでなく、迷った語にも印を付けてください。

7日間の語彙復習法

• 1日目：40問を解き、知らない語と迷った語を分ける。
• 2日目：熟語だけを音読。前置詞まで含めて言う。
• 3日目：20語を使って自分の例文を作る。
• 4日目：日本語を見て英語を言い、最後に英文を見て確認。
• 5日目：本文の空所に入る理由を説明する。
• 6日目：似た語を比較する。look for／look after、disappointed／disappointingなど。
• 7日目：別の問題で同じ語が使えるか確認する。

単語帳のページを何周したかではなく、「初見の英文で使えるか」を確認するのがポイントです。特に準2級では語彙問題だけでなく、会話や長文の文脈の中で語句を判断する場面があります。

学校の単語テストと英検をつなげる

中高一貫校では、学校の教科書や単語帳に出てくる語が英検対策でも使えることがあります。学校で responsible を学んだら、Students should be responsible for their own homework. のように自分の英文を作り、翌日に音読します。こうすれば定期テストの暗記を、英検のReading・Writing・Speakingにも接続できます。

よくある質問

一日に何語覚えればよいですか？

固定の正解はありません。新しく覚える量より、翌日・数日後に思い出せるかを確認してください。

日本語訳を全部覚える必要がありますか？

多義語は代表的な意味だけでなく、文脈で意味が変わることを確認してください。問題で出る意味を文中で判断する練習が重要です。

単語帳と過去問はどちらを優先しますか？

過去問で弱点を見つけ、その原因を単語帳で補う順番が使いやすいです。最初から単語帳を無制限に増やす必要はありません。
