英検準2級のEメール・説明文では、募集案内の「先着順」「抽選」「キャンセル待ち」を取り違えると、応募した人が参加できるか判断できません。先着順は申し込んだ順、抽選は期限内の申込者から選ぶ方法、キャンセル待ちは空席が出た場合の候補です。本文に書かれていない当選・参加確定を推測しないでください。

1. first come, first served＝先着順。申し込みの早さが座席の決定に関係する。

場面1：ロボット工作教室

英文資料：Registration for the town’s robotics workshop opens at 9 a.m. on Monday. The first sixteen students aged 13 to 16 to apply will get seats. Others may join a waiting list. If a student with a seat cancels by Friday, the next person on the waiting list will receive an email. Students offered a seat must pay the fee within two days after the offer.
