英文B|海辺の町の自転車共有制度(Q26〜29)

A small coastal town decided to test a new bicycle-sharing program near its railway station. Residents could borrow a bicycle for two hours after registering with a library card. The bicycles had lights and baskets, and staff checked their condition each morning. During the first month, 92 people registered for the service. However, only 63 of those people actually borrowed a bicycle. Staff recorded 117 rides because some residents borrowed a bicycle more than once. The town explained that registrations, riders, and rides were three different numbers. After the first month, staff interviewed 40 people who had used the service. Twenty-eight said that the bicycles were helpful, eight were unsure, and four said they preferred walking. The town did not ask everyone who used the bicycles, and the answers did not prove that traffic had decreased. Several residents said that the return station was difficult to see from the road. The town placed a larger sign near the entrance and added a map to the registration page. It also began recording whether bicycles were returned on time. Staff will use these records before deciding whether to place more bicycles near other stations.

Q26. How many people actually borrowed a bicycle in the first month?

  1. 40
  2. 63
  3. 92
  4. 117

Q27. Why were there 117 rides but only 63 riders?

  1. Each bicycle was broken twice
  2. Every person used a bicycle exactly once
  3. Some people borrowed bicycles more than once
  4. The town counted people who only registered as riders

Q28. What did 28 of the 40 interviewed users say?

  1. The program had already reduced traffic
  2. The bicycles were helpful
  3. They had never used the service
  4. They wanted the service to close immediately

Q29. Why did the town add a larger sign near the return station?

  1. The bicycles had no lights
  2. The sign was required by a school teacher
  3. The station moved to another town
  4. Some users had trouble seeing the return station from the road

Q26〜29|自転車共有の説明文全文和訳
