The museum gave tablets to teachers, but they were difficult to use.

this・it・theyの判断を3つに分ける

③主張の強さ:it might helpをit definitely provedなどへ変えず、未検証の効果はmay / might / couldなどを残す。

A local library gave visitors access to online recordings and printed transcripts of community talks. Some visitors preferred listening, while others found the transcripts easier to use. The library reported that the recordings were accessed more frequently, but it had not measured how often the transcripts were read. Managers planned to ask both groups for feedback before deciding whether to expand the collection. They did not want an early difference in access counts to be interpreted as evidence that one format was better for everyone.

Q25. What does ‘others’ refer to in the second sentence?

Q26. What does ‘they’ refer to in the last sentence?

Q27. Correct: The transcripts were used less because access counts were lower.

Q28. Combine the manager’s concern and next step without an unclear pronoun.

A25. Other visitors who found transcripts easier to use.

A26. The library’s managers.

A27. The library had not measured how often transcripts were read.

A28. Managers will seek feedback from both groups before deciding whether either format should be expanded.

A school offered students digital textbooks and shared computers. Teachers thought the textbooks might make reference materials easier to find, but some students said that the computers were often unavailable after class. The school therefore kept printed materials and considered adding more computers. During a short trial, staff recorded how often computers were booked, but they did not measure whether students’ examination scores improved. Administrators said that they would review access problems before purchasing more devices.

Q29. What are the two resources provided by the school?

Q30. Which resource was often unavailable after class?

Q31. What did staff actually measure?

Q32. Rewrite the conclusion using clear subjects and a cautious claim.

A29. Digital textbooks and shared computers.

A30. Shared computers.

A31. How often computers were booked.

A32. The school measured computer bookings, but it has not established whether digital materials improve examination scores.

The company reported fewer questions. This proved its program was successful. The company reported fewer questions, but the effect on customer satisfaction has not been established.
