英検準1級の二次面接で「Yes.」「I think so.」のような短い返答だけで終わってしまう場合、答えを長くするのではなく、主張→理由→具体例の順で1段階ずつ広げる練習が効果的です。 面接では、質問に答えることが最優先です。そのうえで「なぜそう思うのか」「どのような場面でそう言えるのか」まで短く説明できると、内容のある応答へつなげられます。
日本英語検定協会の準1級Can-doリストでは、社会的な話題について自分の考えなどを、主張と根拠を明確にしながら詳細に話して伝える力が示されています。この記事では、その力を自宅で練習できるよう、慶英会独自の30問を作りました。公式過去問や実際の面接問題の転載ではありません。
短い回答が止まってしまう3つの原因
原因1：質問を「賛成か反対か」だけで処理している。
原因2：理由を日本語では思いついても、英語で一文にできない。
原因3：具体例を別の話として考えるため、回答が止まる。
そこで、まずは次の3段階を固定します。
- Claim：I agree / I disagree / I think …
- Reason：One reason is that …
- Example：For example, …
すべての質問で3文を話す必要はありません。時間と質問の内容に応じて、Claim＋Reasonの2文だけでも十分な場合があります。重要なのは、回答を伸ばすために無関係な話を追加しないことです。
独自30問｜主張→理由→具体例を練習
まず質問だけを読み、10秒以内に「立場＋理由」を作ってください。次に具体例を1つ追加します。回答は一語一句暗記せず、別のテーマでも同じ構造を使えるようにしてください。
Part 1｜意見を2〜3文へ広げる10問
Q1. Do you think schools should provide more opportunities for students to study outdoors?

Q3. Do you think young people should learn how to manage money before entering university?
Q4. Do you think public libraries should provide more digital services?

回答の型
例：Yes, I do. One reason is that outdoor activities can give students opportunities to observe real environments. For example, they can study plants or local history outside the classroom.
この形では、最初の文で立場、2文目で理由、3文目で具体例を示しています。具体例は理由を繰り返すのではなく、誰が何をするのかまで落としてください。
Part 2｜理由を一段深くする10問

練習法：各問について「Why?」を2回繰り返します。たとえば「公共交通が安い方がよい」→「学生が使いやすくなる」→「移動費が減れば、教材や活動に使えるお金が残る」というように、理由と結果をつなげます。
Part 3｜追質問に対応する10問
Q21. You said public transportation should be cheaper. Who should pay for the reduction in fares?
Q22. You said students should learn money management. At what age should they start?
Q23. You said museums need more interactive exhibits. Could this increase costs?
Q24. You said cities should create more bicycle lanes. Would this reduce space for cars?
Q25. You said schools should teach misinformation. How can teachers avoid influencing students’ opinions?
Q26. You said companies should reduce meetings. How can they make sure employees still communicate?
Q27. You said public libraries should offer digital services. What about people who are not comfortable with technology?
Q28. You said parks are important. How can cities maintain them?
Q29. You said volunteer work is valuable. Could it reduce students’ study time?
Q30. You said environmental education is important. What should students actually do?
追質問で止まらない回答の作り方
追質問では、最初の回答をそのまま繰り返すのではなく、短い結論→条件または理由→具体策へ進みます。
例：「Could this increase costs?」→ Yes, it could. However, museums could start with a small number of exhibits and expand them after checking visitor responses.
この回答では、まず相手の懸念を認め、その後に条件付きの対策を示しています。無理に「It is definitely good.」と断定する必要はありません。
30問の回答例・使える表現
Q1例：Yes. Outdoor learning can help students connect classroom knowledge with real situations. For example, they can observe plants and local geography directly.
Q3例：Yes. Money management is useful because students will soon make decisions about spending and saving. For example, they may need to plan a monthly budget.
Q8例：Yes. Better cycling infrastructure can improve safety and reduce traffic. For example, protected lanes can separate bicycles from busy car routes.
Q12例：Yes, when tablets are used for clear learning purposes. For example, students can compare data or access reference materials quickly.
Q14例：Yes. Repairing products can reduce waste and extend their useful lives. For example, local repair services can help people keep devices longer.
Q18例：Yes. Multiple-language information can help visitors understand important rules and emergency instructions. For example, public facilities can provide key notices in several common languages.
Q23例：Yes, they might. However, museums can begin with a few high-impact exhibits and evaluate the results before expanding.
Q24例：Yes, in some areas. However, protected bicycle lanes may reduce conflict between cyclists and cars and improve safety.

7日間の二次面接練習
- 1日目：Q1〜10を各30秒で回答。
- 2日目：理由だけを英語で一文にする。
- 3日目：具体例を一文追加する。
- 4日目：Q21〜30の追質問へ答える。
- 5日目：同じテーマを別表現で言い換える。
- 6日目：初見10問を録音して確認する。
- 7日目：初見質問で結論→理由→具体例を再現する。
