英検準1級の長文で、few / a few / less / fewer / no more than / at least / most / almost を読み違えると、人数・時間・費用・確実性の意味が逆になります。 また no more than ten は少なさを強調し、at least ten は10以上の下限を示します。

目次:数量限定の6原則/1. less / fewer:不可算と可算複数/2. few / a few / little / a little:少なさと前向きな含意/3. no more than / not more than / at most:上限の表現/4. at least / no fewer than / not less than:下限の表現/5. as many as / as much as / twice:比較の基準/6. most / almost / nearly:大部分とほぼ全部/36問の解答/短文4題・8問/14日間の練習/FAQ。
- little / a little:不可算名詞に使い、littleは不十分、a littleは少量あるという違いを表す。
- at most / no more than:上限や少なさの強調。at most 30は30以下。
- at least / no fewer than:下限や予想外の多さ。at least 30は30以上。
- most / almost:most of the peopleは大多数、almost every personはほぼ全員。
