長文1：学校の試験日程を統一する
A fictional secondary school kept separate schedules for three departments. Administrators consolidated them into one document, then integrated that document with an online booking system. Combining the records did not automatically correct their errors. Two classes had reserved the same room at the same time. Department heads coordinated the activities and moved one class elsewhere. The principal also asked the team to align the timetable with the school’s examination policy. During testing, two tablets displayed different starting times because their clocks had not been synchronized. Technicians corrected the clocks and checked the results again. The school explained that gathering records, connecting systems, adjusting activities, matching policies and synchronizing devices solved different problems. It planned to review the data regularly.

A fictional town used rainfall sensors and river gauges managed by different offices. The data team consolidated readings in a shared database. Engineers integrated this database with a public website, allowing residents to see both kinds of information. The offices coordinated inspection times so that not all sensors would be unavailable at once. The council asked them to align public notices with official emergency guidance. During a test, two monitoring stations seemed to produce conflicting records. Technicians found that the clocks had not been synchronized. After correcting the timestamps, the team compared readings from the same moments. Officials warned that aligned messages and synchronized clocks did not guarantee accurate measurements. They retained the original records for future checks.
