acknowledge receipt of a document=文書の受領を確認する。 recognize the importance of accessibility=利用しやすさの重要性を理解する。

Part C|

A community library considered longer evening hours. Supporters argued that the change would help students who had no quiet place at home. During a meeting, a critic pointed out that extra supervision would increase costs. The director conceded that this concern was reasonable, but did not reject the idea of evening access. She acknowledged receipt of a revised proposal and agreed to examine it. The committee had not yet accepted the new schedule. Staff also admitted that they lacked reliable information about demand from nonusers. The director said the library should recognize the needs of different groups before choosing a permanent policy.

Before a school science fair, organizers discovered that a printed chart contained an incorrect unit. The student who prepared it admitted the mistake and asked to replace the chart. The event director acknowledged the correction request and said the team would review the revised version. Some teachers conceded that the error might confuse visitors, although they argued that the experiment itself was still useful. The students recognized the importance of separating measured results from assumptions. The director accepted the corrected chart only after checking it against the original records. The updated display did not claim that a single result proved a universal scientific rule.

A town collected feedback on new signs near a public building. Some visitors praised the clearer arrows, while others complained that the lettering was small. The planning officer acknowledged the complaints in an email and conceded that some signs could be difficult to read at a distance. An independent adviser recognized that different visitors needed different formats. The office admitted that the first survey had included only people who managed to use the new signs. It therefore accepted the adviser’s offer to conduct a broader trial. The town has not concluded that the current signs are appropriate for everyone, and a permanent replacement program remains undecided.

FAQ|concede
