英検準1級の使役動詞・知覚動詞｜make・have・get・let・see独自24問【全解説】

英検準1級の英文でmake・have・get・let・see・hearが出てきたときは、直後の語形だけでなく「誰が誰に何をさせたか」「動作の全体を見たのか、途中を見たのか」を確認しましょう。特に make A do、get A to do、have A done、see A doingは長文の意味を左右します。慶英会では英文解釈8問、同意文書換8問、誤文訂正4問、独自長文4問の計24問と全和訳・解説を無料公開します。

最初に結論：使役・知覚動詞の意味と型

make A do は「Aに〜させる」、let A do は「Aに〜することを許す」。have A do は人に作業を依頼・手配する場合に使えます。get A to do は相手に行動してもらうよう働きかける意味を表します。強制・許可・依頼などの意味を一つにしてはいけません。

have A done／get A done は、物Aが人によって〜される、という結果を表すことがあります。I had my bicycle repaired. は「自転車を修理してもらった」。しかし I had my bag stolen. は「バッグを盗まれた」という被害にも使われ、必ず自分で手配した意味になるわけではありません。

see／hear A do は動作のまとまりを目撃・聴取する場合、see／hear A doing は進行中の動作を知覚する場合に使われます。ただし文脈によって両者の意味が重なる場合もあり、すべての例で完了・未完了を機械的に断定しないことが重要です。

能動態の They made him apologize. を受け身にすると He was made to apologize. となり、使役makeの受動態ではtoが現れます。知覚動詞の He was seen to enter the building. でも原形不定詞のtoが現れることがあります。一方で He was seen entering the building. は進行中の動作を示す分詞表現です。

失点原因と1週間の復習方法

1〜4問を間違えた場合はmake／let／have／getの意味と語形を、5〜6問を間違えた場合はhave A doneの「依頼」と「被害」の違いを、7〜8問を間違えた場合は知覚動詞の原形と現在分詞の働きを復習してください。

make A doとget A to doは同じですか？

どちらも他人の行動に影響しますが、makeは強制・原因、getは働きかけ・説得・手配などのニュアンスを持つことがあります。文脈で選びます。

have my bike repairedとhave my wallet stolenは同じ意味ですか？

同じhave＋物＋過去分詞の形でも、前者は修理を依頼する意味、後者は財布を盗まれる被害を表します。常に手配した意味になるわけではありません。

見た動作の全体か途中かを必ず区別できますか？

原形は動作のまとまり、現在分詞は動作中の様子を示す傾向があります。ただし状況によって解釈が重なる場合があるため、前後の英文を確認してください。
