volunteer＝ボランティア／自発的に手伝う、help＝手伝う、collect＝集める、hand out＝配る、put away＝片付ける、enjoy＝楽しむ、feel happy＝うれしく感じる、learn＝学ぶ、because＝理由、plan to＝〜する予定、という意味です。

Original English Story：KEN’S PARK CLEANUP (fictional). On Sunday, Ken joined a school volunteer group at River Park. Ten students and two teachers came to help. The group planned to begin at 9:00 a.m., but rain made them wait until 9:30. They wore gloves and picked up paper and empty bottles from the walking paths. The students collected six bags of paper and four bags of empty bottles. The teachers took the bags to the town collection desk. At 11:30, the group finished and had a short meeting under a roof. Ken was tired, but he felt happy because the park looked cleaner. He wants to make a poster asking visitors to use the park bins. This is a fictional school activity, not actual waste-handling guidance.
