チャンクとは何か｜英単語を1語ずつ訳さない
意味のかたまりとは、たとえば at three thirty / on Friday / in Room 205 のように、続けて聞くと時刻・曜日・場所として理解しやすい部分です。英文を細かく切り過ぎず、前置詞＋名詞や助動詞＋動詞などをまとめて聞きます。これは慶英会が提案する練習方法であり、協会が指定した解答手順ではありません。
問題の解き方｜台本を見ずに40問
学習者は以下の英語の設問と4択だけを表示し、読み上げ担当者は後半の英文台本を別端末で開きます。英文を自然な速度で2回読み、学習者が記号を選びます。最初は2回聞いても分からなかったチャンクに印を付け、解答後にスラッシュ位置と意味を確認します。
