英検3級Eメールで「What did you eat?」と「Who made it?」に答えるとき、食べ物の名前だけでは2質問を満たせません。慶英会の独自8通40課題では、食べた物の名称、実際に作った人、eat–ate–eaten・make–made–made、it／themの使い分けを練習し、15〜25語の模範返信を掲載します。
結論｜Whatには食べた物、Whoには料理を作った人
What did you eat? → I ate vegetable soup. / Who made it? → My teacher made it.のように答えます。I made it.と書くと『自分で作った』という意味になるので、実際に作った人を主語にしましょう。料理名が複数のcookiesやsandwichesならthemを使うのが自然です。

eat・make・cook・prepareの主語と意味

eatの過去形はate、makeの過去形はmadeです。料理をした人を説明する主語が自分ならI、母ならMy mother、料理部の生徒たちならStudents from the cooking clubとなります。単語だけでなく主語の関係を確認してください。

英文法の整理｜Who made it?の主語
Who made it?のWhoは文の主語なので、答えはMy father made it.やMy friends made them.のようになります。Who did you make it with?なら『誰と作ったか』なので、問われる内容が異なります。it／themの違いと、madeという過去形をまとめて復習してください。

cookは特に加熱調理、makeは料理を作る全般を表します。fruit saladのように加熱しない料理にもmakeを使えます。
cookiesはitとthemのどちらで受けますか？
cookiesは複数名詞なのでthemを使います。a cakeなど単数ならitが適切です。
