英検2級英作文の語数調整｜80〜100語にまとめる独自20問・模範6題【無料教材】

英検2級の意見英作文は、80〜100語をただ長くするのではなく、「答え→理由→説明」を必要十分な長さで組み立てることが重要です。短すぎる答案では説明が足りず、長すぎる答案では同じ内容の言い換えや文法ミスが増えます。この記事では、慶英会が作成した独自20問と模範6題を使い、語数を増減させる判断を練習します。

結論｜語数調整は「情報を増やす→具体化→重複を削る」の順

まず設問に直接答える結論を書き、次に理由を二つに分けます。語数が足りなければ、理由に具体的な説明を一文加えます。語数が多ければ、同じ内容を言い換えている部分から削ります。難しい単語を無理に追加する必要はありません。

英検2級Writingの公式形式

英検協会の現行2級一次試験では、Writingに英文要約1題と意見英作文1題があります。Reading・Writingは合わせて85分です。意見英作文の語数は公式の問題冊子の指示を必ず確認してください。慶英会の練習では80〜100語を目安にしますが、この記事の例は公式過去問ではありません。

Part 1｜20問・語数を増やすか削るか

1. Q1：Should students use tablets in every class? I think they should. Tablets are useful.
   語数を増やすなら何を足す？
   答え：「何が便利か」を具体化する。例：Students can quickly find information and organize notes.
2. Q2：Should towns build more public libraries? Yes, because libraries are useful and helpful.
   答え：useful / helpful は内容が重なりやすい。別の理由に置き換える。
3. Q3：Schools should offer more club activities because students can make friends.
   あと一文加えるなら？
   答え：学習や健康など別の効果を具体化する。
4. Q4：I agree. It is good for the environment. It is also good for the environment.
   答え：同じ理由の重複なので削り、別の観点へ。
5. Q5：語数が多いとき、最初に削る候補は？
   答え：同じ意味の形容詞、重複する具体例、設問に答えない背景。
6. Q6：語数が不足したとき、単語を難しくするべき？
   答え：いいえ。理由の説明を一文追加する方が安全。
7. Q7：Public transportation is convenient.を具体化せよ。
   答え例：It allows people to travel without driving themselves.
8. Q8：Online classes are flexible.の説明を加えよ。

    答え：二文の核心を一つの短い名詞句で表せるなら重複の可能性が高い。
12. Q12：例を二つ足せば語数不足は解決する？
    答え：必ずしもよくない。理由の説明が増える方が設問への適合性を保ちやすい。
13. Q13：80語ぎりぎりなら削るべき？
    答え：指定範囲に入っているなら必ずしも削る必要はない。意味が明確かを確認する。
14. Q14：100語を超えたら何を確認する？
    答え：重複理由、長い導入、同義語の重ね書き、不要な一般論。
15. Q15：I think that this is very good and very useful.はどこを直す？
    答え：very good and very usefulの重複を減らし、具体的な効果を書く。
16. Q16：理由に数字を入れるべき？
    答え：必要ではない。根拠のない数字は作らず、身近な具体例を使う。
17. Q17：理由AとBが「安い」「お金を節約できる」なら？
    答え：原則同じ費用面なので、もう一方を安全・学習・時間など別観点へ。
18. Q18：結論の言い換えを3回書くのは？
    答え：語数稼ぎになりやすいので避ける。
19. Q19：文を一つ増やすときの基本形は？
    答え：理由→Because / For example / As a resultなどで自然につなぐ。
20. Q20：最後の見直しで最優先は？
    答え：設問への回答、理由の独立性、語数、主語・動詞、冠詞・複数形。

第1題｜学校図書館

Topic: Do you think schools should keep their libraries open after classes?

Model: I think schools should keep their libraries open after classes. First, students can use quiet spaces to finish homework. This is especially useful for those who cannot study easily at home. Second, students can read books when they have free time. As a result, schools may help students develop better study habits. For these reasons, after-school library hours would be useful for many students.

和訳：放課後も学校図書館を開けておくべきだと思います。第一に、静かな場所で宿題を終えられます。特に自宅で勉強しにくい生徒には便利です。第二に、空き時間に読書できます。その結果、学校はよりよい学習習慣を育てる助けになるでしょう。このため、放課後の開館時間は多くの生徒に役立つと考えます。

第2題｜公共交通

Topic: Do you think more young people should use public transportation?

Model: Yes, I do. First, public transportation can reduce the number of cars on busy roads. This may help make towns more comfortable for residents. Second, students can use travel time for reading or reviewing notes instead of focusing on driving. In addition, buses and trains can be useful when families do not have enough cars. For these reasons, young people should learn how to use public transportation effectively.

第3題｜学校行事

Topic: Should schools offer more activities with local communities?

Model: I think they should. One reason is that students can learn about problems that they do not see in classrooms. For example, they may help organize local events or clean public spaces. Another reason is that community activities allow students to communicate with adults outside school. These experiences can improve communication skills and help students understand different viewpoints. Therefore, schools should create more opportunities for students to work with local communities.

第4題｜オンライン教材

Topic: Do you think schools should provide more digital learning materials?

Model: Yes, I think they should. First, digital materials can be updated more easily than printed materials. Students may therefore receive newer information when necessary. Second, digital files can be carried on one device, so students do not need to carry many heavy books. However, schools should also provide printed materials when students need to write or draw by hand. A balanced approach would be practical.

第5題｜地域イベント

Topic: Should towns organize more free events for teenagers?

Model: I agree. Free events can give teenagers places to spend time safely after school. They can also help students meet people who attend different schools. In addition, local organizations can learn what young people are interested in by talking with them directly. These opportunities may strengthen relationships between teenagers and their communities. Therefore, towns should consider offering more free activities, while choosing programs that match local needs.

Topic: Should schools provide more time for students to prepare for classes in the morning?

Model: I think this could be useful. First, some students arrive at school without enough time to organize their materials. A short preparation period could help them begin lessons calmly. Second, students could review important notes or vocabulary before class. This may be useful before tests. However, schools would need to plan the schedule carefully so that students do not lose necessary teaching time. Therefore, a short and well-managed period may be practical.
