一次情報:WHO|Microplastics in Drinking-water(2019年8月)、WHO|Dietary and Inhalation Exposure to Nano- and Microplastic Particles(2022年8月)。

1|Detection proves harm

修正前:Particles were detected, so they must have caused illness.

修正後:Particles were detected, but that alone does not establish a specific health effect.

慶英会の解説:存在の確認と健康影響の因果を区別。

修正2|Unknown means harmless

修正前:Scientists still have questions, so we know the water is entirely harmless.

修正後:Some uncertainties remain, so a categorical safety conclusion would be premature.

慶英会の解説:不確実性は安全の保証でもない。

修正3|Unknown means harmful

修正前:The research is incomplete, proving the particles are dangerous.

修正後:Incomplete research calls for further investigation rather than a predetermined conclusion.

慶英会の解説:証拠不足から害の確定を導かない。

修正4|One sample represents all

修正前:One bottle contained particles; therefore every tap is contaminated at the same level.

修正後:One result cannot establish conditions across all sources and locations.

慶英会の解説:試料の代表性を考慮。

修正5|Bigger count means higher risk

修正前:More particles were counted, so the health risk must be proportionally greater.

修正後:Particle counts need context about size, composition and exposure before risk can be evaluated.

慶英会の解説:計数と健康影響を直接換算しない。

修正6|Presence equals dose

修正前:The material exists in water, so every person receives the same dose.

修正後:Potential exposure depends on concentrations and individual circumstances.

慶英会の解説:存在と実際の曝露量を区別。

修正7|Testing equals protection

修正前:The city bought equipment; therefore residents are protected.

修正後:Testing can provide evidence, but its practical value depends on methods and decisions informed by the results.

慶英会の解説:機器導入を健康上の成果と混同しない。

修正8|No detected particles means none exist

修正前:The test found nothing, so the water contains no small particles whatsoever.

修正後:A negative result applies within the method’s detection limits.

慶英会の解説:検出限界の存在を示す。

修正9|Method differences are irrelevant

修正前:Every laboratory’s findings can be compared directly.

修正後:Comparisons require attention to sampling, identification methods and detection thresholds.

慶英会の解説:研究の方法差を確認。

修正10|Same category means same properties

修正前:All microplastic particles have identical characteristics.

修正後:Particles may differ in size, shape and composition.

慶英会の解説:単一名称のもとに異なる性質がある。

修正11|Correlation establishes causation

修正前:The two quantities moved together, proving one caused the other.

修正後:An association does not by itself establish a causal relationship.

慶英会の解説:相関と因果の区別。

修正12|Preliminary study settles debate

修正前:One preliminary study resolved every outstanding question.

修正後:Preliminary findings may guide research but need appropriate review and replication.

慶英会の解説:暫定的な結果から確定しない。

修正13|Uncertainty makes research pointless

修正前:Because evidence is limited, further testing is useless.

修正後:Evidence gaps can help identify questions for well-designed research.

慶英会の解説:不確実性は研究価値を否定しない。

修正14|All monitoring is always best

修正前:Every water facility must test all particles continuously regardless of cost.

修正後:Monitoring priorities should consider useful evidence, methods and competing needs.

慶英会の解説:予算・優先順位に関する限定。

修正15|Pollution prevention requires proven harm

修正前:Plastic pollution should not be reduced until every health effect is demonstrated.

修正後:Broader pollution prevention can be considered without inventing particular health claims.

慶英会の解説:汚染予防と健康評価は異なる政策根拠。

修正16|A 2019 report is always current

修正前:A report published in 2019 proves the latest state of science in 2026.

修正後:A dated report provides historical evidence and should be interpreted alongside later research.

慶英会の解説:出典の公表時点と現在性を区別。

修正17|A headline reflects the report

修正前:The headline confirms that every water source is unsafe.

修正後:The original methods and conclusions should be checked before accepting a headline.

慶英会の解説:見出しと原報告は別。

修正18|A diagram establishes exposure

修正前:A diagram of particles proves individual exposure levels.

修正後:A conceptual illustration is not a measurement of exposure.

慶英会の解説:模式図を測定結果にしない。

修正19|An average represents all people

修正前:The average concentration is everyone’s personal exposure.

修正後:An average may conceal variation across sources and individuals.

慶英会の解説:平均値の範囲と限界。

修正20|A lab result settles regulation

修正前:Scientists detected particles, so the same new rule is suitable everywhere.

修正後:Policy design requires evaluating evidence, local conditions, costs and alternative measures.

慶英会の解説:科学的な知見と規制決定を区別。

修正21|Tap and bottled water are always identical

修正前:One comparison shows tap and bottled water have identical conditions everywhere.

修正後:A limited comparison cannot establish universal equivalence across products and locations.

慶英会の解説:局所的比較の一般化を避ける。

修正22|Every measurement has perfect precision

修正前:A test result contains no uncertainty because it is numerical.

修正後:Numerical findings still depend on sampling and measurement limitations.

慶英会の解説:数値の存在は精密な確実性と別。

修正23|Risk is only a particle count

修正前:Health risk can be calculated from the number of detected particles alone.

修正後:Assessment requires relevant exposure and evidence about possible effects.

慶英会の解説:リスク評価の要素を明示。

修正24|Better communication means certainty

修正前:Officials should give residents a completely certain answer even when evidence is incomplete.

修正後:Officials should explain what is established, what remains uncertain and how knowledge may change.
