sample・only・some・allといった範囲に注意します。
- 2日目:読解方針8問でthis・they・however・someとallを復習。

For a cultural exchange project, two students interviewed families about breakfast. Family A lived near the sea and often ate rice, eggs, and vegetables. Family B lived in a mountain town and usually ate bread, fruit, and soup. One student wrote that everyone near the sea preferred rice and everyone in the mountains preferred bread. Her partner pointed out that they had spoken to only two families. The families’ choices might also depend on taste, cost, or time. The group rewrote its summary to describe the two families rather than entire regions. They added a question asking what other households ate during the week. The students learned that a specific example can make a report interesting without representing all the people in a country.
9:What was the project topic?
- 問10:Where did Family A live?
- 問11:Name two foods Family A often ate.
- 問12:Where did Family B live?
- 問13:Name two foods Family B usually ate.
- 問14:How many families were interviewed?
- 問15:Why was the first summary inaccurate?
- 問16:Name one other factor that might influence breakfast choices.
Part 3|
A group of students wanted to study plastic waste on a beach. In a small observation, they collected nine plastic pieces near the northern path and fourteen near the southern path. The students worked for twenty minutes in each area, but they did not measure the size of the areas or how many visitors had passed through them. One student concluded that the southern path was always more polluted. Another asked whether a single short observation was enough to prove that statement. The group agreed to record only what it had collected. They planned to visit the same places on several days and note weather and visitor numbers. Their report said the southern area had five more plastic pieces during this particular observation. It did not claim that the result showed a permanent environmental difference.
17:What environmental problem did the group study?
- 問18:How many pieces were collected near the northern path?
- 問19:How many pieces were collected near the southern path?
- 問20:How long did the students work in each area?
- 問21:What was the difference in collected pieces?
- 問22:Name one quantity the group had not measured.
- 問23:Why was the word always unsupported?
- 問24:What extra information would they record later?
Part 4|
A town library wanted to make its services easier to use. The staff first suggested replacing every paper notice with a digital notice. Some visitors liked checking information on their phones, but others did not have easy access to a smartphone. The library asked sixteen visitors for feedback. Ten wanted both paper and digital notices, four preferred digital notices only, and two preferred paper only. After considering the replies, the staff proposed keeping a small paper board near the entrance while updating information online. The new plan was still a proposal, and the town had not approved it. The library prepared a trial to check whether visitors could find important information in either format. The staff learned that a solution should fit different users rather than assuming everyone has the same needs.
25:What did the library first suggest?
- 問26:How many visitors gave feedback?
- 問27:How many wanted both paper and digital notices?
- 問28:How many preferred only digital notices?
- 問29:How many preferred only paper notices?
- 問30:Where would the small paper board be kept?
- 問31:Had the town approved the new proposal?
- 問32:What would the library test next?
Part 5|
During an exchange lesson, a student named Rina wrote about a festival in her town. Her grandfather remembered joining it when he was young, but he did not know when the festival had started. Rina found an old photograph in a public archive. The photograph was dated 1975 and showed people carrying lanterns through a street. She first wrote that the festival had begun in 1975. Her teacher asked whether the photograph proved the starting year. Rina realized that it only showed the event existed by that date. She revised the paragraph and added the archive title and the day she accessed it. She then contacted a local history group to ask if older records were available. Rina wanted her English presentation to be interesting, but she decided that accuracy was more important than a dramatic claim.
33:What was Rina’s writing topic?
- 問34:Who remembered joining the festival?
- 問35:What was the photograph’s date?
- 問36:What did the photograph show?
- 問37:What unsupported claim did Rina first make?
- 問38:What did the photograph actually prove?
- 問39:Which source details did she add?
- 問40:Whom did Rina contact for more records?
