順序を読む3つのポイント
The schedule is as follows: …は一覧を導く決まった表現です。主語が複数でもas followsのfollowsは変えません。
Following the lecture, students asked questions.では講演後に質問したという意味です。followingは前置詞・形容詞などとして使われます。
The lecture was followed by a discussion.は講演→討論。一方、The lecture followed a briefing.は説明→講演です。主語と受動態の有無を確認します。

独自初見長文5問・全文和訳
Original Reading: A high school planned a public event at which students would present their science projects. The printed program was as follows: a welcome speech at nine, a short safety briefing at nine twenty, a demonstration at nine thirty, a question session at ten, a poster review at ten thirty, and closing remarks at eleven. The teacher asked student guides to learn the order rather than merely memorize a list of times. The demonstration followed the safety briefing and was followed by a question session. Following the questions, visitors could move to the poster area. During a rehearsal, one guide told visitors that the safety briefing was followed by the welcome speech. The editor corrected the statement because it reversed the actual order. Another guide wrote that the poster review was followed by the question session. This was also incorrect: the question session came first. The students created a simple chart with arrows showing which activity preceded and followed each other. They kept the schedule unchanged but revised the explanations next to it. On the day of the event, the guide who welcomed visitors used the phrase ‘the program is as follows’ before explaining the sequence. The final report noted that precise language for order was as important as correct clock times when visitors needed to know where to go next.
全文和訳
高校は生徒が科学企画を発表する公開行事を計画した。印刷された予定は次のとおりだった。9時に歓迎の言葉、9時20分に短い安全説明、9時半に実演、10時に質問時間、10時半にポスター閲覧、11時に閉会の言葉である。教師は案内係に時刻だけでなく順序を覚えるよう求めた。実演は安全説明の後で、その後に質問時間が続いた。質問が終わると来訪者はポスター区域へ移動できた。リハーサル中、ある案内係は安全説明の後に歓迎の言葉があると誤って説明した。編集長は順序が逆だと訂正した。別の案内係はポスター閲覧の後に質問時間があると書いたが、実際には質問が先だった。生徒は各活動の前後関係を矢印で示す表を作った。予定そのものは変えず、説明だけを修正した。当日、入口の案内係は「予定は次のとおり」と述べてから順序を説明した。最終報告では、来訪者が次に向かう場所を理解するには時刻だけでなく順序を表す言葉も正確であることが重要と記された。
