付加疑問文の基本：前が肯定なら後ろは否定

Cambridge DictionaryのQuestion tagsでは、肯定文の後ろに否定タグ、否定文の後ろに肯定タグを置く標準的な用法が示されています。動詞と主語代名詞を文末で対応させることが基本です。

be動詞・一般動詞・助動詞で形が異なる

動詞がlikesだからといってisn’t sheとはしません。She likes music, doesn’t she?のようにdoesを使います。一方、She is reading, isn’t she?ではbe動詞isがあるのでisn’tを使います。

否定文の後ろは肯定タグになる

She can’t swim, can she?のような否定文の付加疑問に答えるときも、Yes/Noは実際の事実が肯定か否定かで判断します。例えば泳げるならYes, she can.、泳げないならNo, she can’t.です。日本語の「はい・いいえ」と機械的に対応させないようにしましょう。
