explain me the ruleは誤りで、explain the rule to meが基本です。 一方、tell me the ruleは正しく、say the rule to meのように動詞によって相手の位置が変わります。『人に何かを伝える』という日本語だけでは語順を決められません。explain・describe・say・tell・announce・report・mention・introduceを30問で比較します。

語順の基本｜内容を先にする動詞と、人を先にする動詞
内容＋to＋人：explain the rule to me、describe the picture to me、say hello to Ken、announce the result to the class、report the problem to the office、mention the plan to her。人＋内容：tell me the news、tell Ken a story。紹介する：introduce Ken to Aya（健を彩に紹介する）。英単語の訳だけでなく、どこに人・内容を置くかを覚えましょう。
よくある誤解：tellとsayの順序
Tell me the answer.は相手を直接置けます。Say the answer to me.は発言内容を述べた後にto meを続けます。give・showには別の語順もあるため、『人に〜する動詞はすべて同じ』というルールにしないことが重要です。

Q. explain meはいつでも誤り？
『私に説明する』という意味で人をそのまま直接目的語にする標準的な形ではありません。explain something to meやexplain to me why…とします。
Q. tell the answer to meは絶対に誤り？
語順を変えた形も文脈によって使われます。ただし基本構文としてはtell me the answerが自然で簡潔です。
Q. introduce me the teacherは正しい？
