結論：英検4級の英文で not until ten は「10時になるまでは〜しない」、つまり開始可能になる時刻は10時です。一方、until Sunday は「日曜日まで継続する」、by Sunday は「日曜日までに」の期限を表します。not の有無や文中の動詞に注意すると、開場・受取・開始時刻の誤読を減らせます。

この教材ではnot untilを使う文の後半に別の時刻を置き、最初に出てきた時刻へ飛びつかない練習を行います。実際の英検4級のReadingは短文・会話・整序・長文の合計35問で、ここで扱う24問は学習用の補助問題です。
