英検3級の英作文・英文法では、目的（～するために）、理由（～なので）、結果（そのため～した）を区別すると論理が分かりやすくなります。in order to・because・soを使う独自24書換問題で、原因と結果、目標と実際の行動を整理します。
対象は中高一貫校の中学生・英検3級受験者です。in order toや過去完了を用いた発展的な英文も含みますが、3級で必ずその表現が出題されるという意味ではありません。慶英会独自の例文です。
3つの論理を先に理解する
目的：in order to + 動詞原形
何を達成するためにその行動をしたかを示します。『目的』と『すでに起こった結果』を混同しないようにします。
理由：because + 主語・動詞
何が原因・理由だったかを節で伝えます。because of＋名詞句との違いも確認します。
結果：so + 文
ある事実から起こった結果を伝えます。原因を先に、結果を後に置きます。
独自24問｜指定した接続の型で書き換える
各問の元の英文の意味を保ちながら、指定された表現を使って一文にまとめてください。指定以外の自然な言い方が成立する場合もありますが、ここでは目的・理由・結果の構文を使う練習をします。
問1（目的：in order to + 動詞原形）：Ken joined the club because he wanted to make new friends.
問2（理由：because + 主語・動詞）：The festival was canceled because of heavy rain.
問3（結果：so + 文）：The teacher was ill. Therefore, the class was canceled.
問4（目的：in order to + 動詞原形）：Aya goes to the library because she wants to read quietly.
問5（理由：because + 主語・動詞）：The train was late because of the snow.
問6（結果：so + 文）：The shop was closed. Therefore, we returned the next day.
問7（目的：in order to + 動詞原形）：We brought a map because we wanted to find the museum.
問8（理由：because + 主語・動詞）：Aya stayed home because of a fever.
問9（結果：so + 文）：We didn’t have enough time. Therefore, we took a taxi.
問10（目的：in order to + 動詞原形）：Mia wrote a note because she didn’t want to forget the time.
問11（理由：because + 主語・動詞）：Ken couldn’t read the sign because of the darkness.
問12（結果：so + 文）：The train arrived late. As a result, we missed the bus.
問13（目的：in order to + 動詞原形）：They arrived early because they wanted to get good seats.
問14（理由：because + 主語・動詞）：The outdoor class ended because of strong wind.
問15（結果：so + 文）：The soup was too hot. As a result, I waited.
問16（目的：in order to + 動詞原形）：I took a photo because I wanted to remember the event.
問17（理由：because + 主語・動詞）：We moved the meeting indoors because of the rain.
問18（結果：so + 文）：The classroom was noisy. As a result, we moved to the library.

問24（結果：so + 文）：Ken forgot his lunch. As a result, he bought a sandwich.
全24問の完成英文・全文和訳・理由
問1：Ken joined the club in order to make new friends. 和訳：ケンは友達を作るためにクラブへ入りました。 解説：友達作りという目的。
問2：The festival was canceled because it rained heavily. 和訳：祭りは大雨のため中止されました。 解説：becauseの後はit rainedという節。
問3：The teacher was ill, so the class was canceled. 和訳：先生が体調不良だったので授業は中止されました。 解説：illが原因、canceledが結果。
問4：Aya goes to the library in order to read quietly. 和訳：アヤは静かに読むため図書館へ行きます。 解説：静かに読む目的。
問5：The train was late because it was snowing. 和訳：電車は雪が降っていたため遅れました。 解説：原因を一文で示す。
問6：The shop was closed, so we returned the next day. 和訳：店が閉まっていたので翌日戻りました。 解説：店の閉店が理由。
問7：We brought a map in order to find the museum. 和訳：博物館を見つけるため地図を持参しました。 解説：地図の持参目的。
問8：Aya stayed home because she had a fever. 和訳：アヤは熱のため家にいました。 解説：she had a fever。
問9：We didn’t have enough time, so we took a taxi. 和訳：時間が足りずタクシーに乗りました。 解説：時間不足からの結果。
問10：Mia wrote a note in order not to forget the time. 和訳：時刻を忘れないためミアはメモを書きました。 解説：目的の否定はin order not to。
問11：Ken couldn’t read the sign because it was dark. 和訳：ケンは暗くて標識を読めませんでした。 解説：it was dark。
問12：The train arrived late, so we missed the bus. 和訳：電車が遅れてバスに乗り遅れました。 解説：遅れが原因。
問13：They arrived early in order to get good seats. 和訳：よい席を取るため早く来ました。 解説：早く来た目的。
問14：The outdoor class ended because the wind was strong. 和訳：屋外授業は強風で終了しました。 解説：the wind was strong。
問15：The soup was too hot, so I waited. 和訳：スープが熱すぎたので待ちました。 解説：熱さが待つ原因。
問16：I took a photo in order to remember the event. 和訳：行事を覚えておくため写真を撮りました。 解説：記憶のための行為。
問17：We moved the meeting indoors because it was raining. 和訳：雨が降っていたため会議を室内へ移しました。 解説：雨を節で説明。

問20：The room was quiet because there were no students. 和訳：生徒がいなかったので部屋は静かでした。 解説：there were no students。
問21：The students worked together, so they finished early. 和訳：生徒が協力したので早く終えました。 解説：協力の結果。
問22：Our class collected books in order to help new students. 和訳：新入生を助けるため本を集めました。 解説：本を集めた目的。
問23：The garden was wet because it had rained. 和訳：雨が降っていたため庭が濡れていました。 解説：先に降った雨が原因のため過去完了も使える。
問24：Ken forgot his lunch, so he bought a sandwich. 和訳：ケンは弁当を忘れたのでサンドイッチを買いました。 解説：忘れた結果の購入。
不自然な接続を修正する
in order toの後には動詞原形を置きます。in order to studyingではなくin order to studyです。becauseの後は通常主語と動詞のある節を続けます。soで原因・結果をつなぐ場合はIt rained, so we stayed home.のように書けます。
注意：目的は成功を保証しない
in order to winは『勝つために』という目的であり、実際に勝ったとは限りません。in order to help new studentsも新入生を助けるために行動したという意味で、すべての新入生が助かったとは断定できません。
復習の進め方
初日に8問、次の日に8問、3日目に残り8問を解きます。4日目は答えを隠して意味の種類（目的・理由・結果）を分類し、5日目に自分の学校生活を題材に各2文ずつ作ります。

in order toは英検3級に必ず出ますか？
出題保証はありません。英作文・英文解釈を発展的に学ぶ補助教材です。

同じ原因と結果を二重につなぐ必要はありません。becauseとsoの文型を適切に使い分けます。
