percentage（百分率）は『全体の何％か』を示す値、percentile（百分位）は集団内での位置を示す指標です。得点が90th percentileでも『問題の90％に正解した』とは限りません。例えば100点中72点でも、他の受験者より高い位置にあれば上位の百分位になる可能性があります。英文要約では得点・正答率・順位・標本集団を混同しないことが重要です。

数字と集団を読み違えない4原則
- percentage：正答数÷問題数×100、賛成者数÷回答数×100などの割合。
- percentile：比較した集団の分布上の位置。90th percentile は一般にその集団内の上位側に位置することを示す。
- 90th percentile＝90% correctとは限らない。何の得点分布かを明確にする。
- 百分位の算出方法は同点処理などで異なり得る。実際の個別得点や全員の正答率を作らない。

誤要約：
The learner reached the 90th percentile, so the learner answered 90 percent of questions correctly.
意味を保つ修正：
The learner was reported at the 90th percentile of the comparison group, but the percentage of questions answered correctly was not given.
和訳：学習者は比較集団内の第90百分位と報告されたが、問題の正答率は示されていない。 解説：百分位は集団内の位置で、問題正答率ではない。
