英文要約で情報を短くするとき、partly（一部）・mainly（主に）・entirely（完全に）を削ってはいけない場合があります。たとえば『補助金が費用の一部を負担』を『補助金が全額負担』と書けば資金構造が変わります。主な原因と唯一の原因、一部地域と全地域を区別することが重要です。
対象：英検準2級プラス〜1級の英文要約を学ぶ中高生。特定級の試験を模倣するのではなく、英文の事実・数値・限定を正確に圧縮する練習です。

最初に理解したい4つの原則
- partly / in part は全体のうち一部であることを示す。
- mainly / primarily は主要な割合・要因を示すが、ほかの要素が存在しないとは限らない。
- entirely / completely は全体に及ぶ。本文の根拠なしに用いない。
- exclusively / only は対象を限定する。対象外の人・場所まで範囲を広げない。
誤った要約の改善例
誤要約：
A community project was entirely funded by donations, although the source says it was partly supported by donations.
正確な要約：
The community project was partly supported by donations, with other funding sources also involved.
解説：寄付は一部を支えたのであり、全額資金源ではありません。

mainly は50％以上を必ず示しますか。
多くの場合主要部分を表しますが、必ず数値的な過半数と同義になるとは限りません。明示された割合があればその数値を残します。
