結論｜肯定にはSo、否定にはNeither。後ろの助動詞を合わせる
英検準2級の会話文で相手がI enjoy reading.と言ったら「私も」と答える基本形はSo do I.です。I don’t enjoy loud music.への同意ならNeither do I.。be動詞や助動詞が入る場合はSo am I. / Neither am I. / So can I. / Neither can I.のように、相手の文の動詞・時制・肯定否定を合わせます。

肯定・否定への同意を整理する一覧
- 一般動詞現在：I like history. → So do I. / I don’t like crowds. → Neither do I.
- 一般動詞過去：I visited Kyoto. → So did I. / I didn’t go. → Neither did I.
- be動詞現在：I’m happy. → So am I. / I’m not tired. → Neither am I.
- be動詞過去：I was nervous. → So was I. / I wasn’t hungry. → Neither was I.
- can：I can swim. → So can I. / I can’t swim. → Neither can I.
- will：I’ll join. → So will I. / I won’t go. → Neither will I.
- should：I should study. → So should I. / I shouldn’t stay late. → Neither should I.
- 現在完了：I’ve been there. → So have I. / I haven’t been there. → Neither have I.
So＋助動詞＋主語の語順｜2つのポイント
① So do IとSo I doは意味が同じではありません。So do Iは相手と同じ状況であることを表します。So I doは、自分について言われた内容に対して「確かにそうだ」と認める表現などで使われることがあります。会話への同意として「私も」を答えるときはSo＋助動詞＋主語の語順を確かめてください。
② Neitherは否定文への同意で使う。相手がI don’t like it.ならNeither do I.と答えます。Me neither.やI don’t either.などの別の自然な言い方もありますが、本教材は試験の文法整理としてNeither＋助動詞＋主語を練習します。
話者が変わったら助動詞も変わる
A: Maya likes music. B: So does Ken.（ケンも音楽が好きです。）I以外の主語にも使います。Neither does Ken.ならケンも否定の内容に同意していることを示します。複数主語のmy friendsではdo/are/have/wereなど主語に対応する形を選びましょう。

Aの発話とBの補足の意味が一致するように選びましょう。be動詞・一般動詞・助動詞・現在完了のどの形に対応するかも説明します。
