英文を読むときは、responsible for cleaning のように前置詞の後ろが動名詞になることにも注意します。また一部の形容詞は文脈によって複数の前置詞と結びつくことがあります。単語だけを切り離して「前置詞は常に一つ」と決めず、文章の意味と連語で覚えましょう。

• 形容詞の意味と、後ろに続く名詞・動名詞を確認する。
• 前置詞を単に暗記するのではなく、その表現が文全体で何を示すか説明する。

誇りに思う対象には通常proud ofを使います。文脈による他の用法もあるため、英文全体で確認してください。

Q. good atの後ろに動詞は置けますか？

動名詞の形で置けます。good at playing tennisなどです。

Q. responsible toとresponsible forは同じですか？
