Original passage: A coastal town digitized historical flood maps so that residents and researchers could study changes in the coastline. The website allowed people to compare documents without visiting the archive, and several schools began using the maps in local history lessons. However, some original pages were torn, while others lacked clear legends explaining the symbols. A few visitors assumed that every line on the online maps represented a precise boundary. Archivists warned that this was not always true, because some marks were approximate and some dates remained uncertain. Instead of drawing missing lines as if they were historical facts, staff added notes to areas with incomplete evidence. They also retained the original maps in protected storage and planned to compare them with other local records before releasing a revised collection.

Q5 模範要約(67語): A coastal town digitized historical flood maps to help residents study past risks. The online versions increased access, but damaged pages and missing legends made some details uncertain. Archivists chose to flag unclear boundaries rather than reconstruct them as facts. They kept the originals and planned to compare additional records before publishing a revised set of maps. The project therefore improved access without resolving every historical question.
Original passage: A museum was given recordings of songs performed at community gatherings many decades earlier. Digital restoration reduced some background noise, making the voices easier to hear. Nevertheless, removing too much noise could also remove faint instruments or changes in the original recording. The technicians therefore kept an unaltered digital copy alongside the cleaned version and documented each major adjustment. Visitors welcomed the clearer sound, but historians noted that the improved audio should not be mistaken for a perfect reproduction of the original performance. The museum created labels describing the difference between the two versions. It also allowed researchers to request access to the unedited copy. The project made rare recordings easier to use while preserving information about how they had been modified.

Q10 模範要約(68語): A museum restored old community recordings to make voices clearer for visitors. However, excessive noise removal could erase faint sounds, so technicians preserved an unedited copy and documented major changes. Although audiences appreciated the improved audio, historians warned against treating it as a perfect reproduction of the performances. The museum explained the differences between the versions and offered researchers access to the originals, balancing usability with historical accuracy.
Original passage: A community library collected recorded interviews with residents about changes in local employment. Many participants wanted their experiences to be useful to students, and the library hoped to publish short transcripts online. However, several recordings included references to relatives who had not agreed to be identified. Library staff contacted interviewees to check which passages could be shared publicly and offered to remove names when necessary. Some participants approved full publication, while others preferred restricted access or a brief summary. The library initially worried that different levels of access would confuse readers. Its advisers recommended clear descriptions of what each record contained and why some parts were unavailable. The project continued, but publication proceeded at different speeds depending on the permissions attached to individual interviews.

Q15 模範要約(66語): A library gathered residents’ interviews about local employment and hoped to share them for educational use. Because some recordings mentioned relatives without their consent, staff checked publication permissions and offered to remove names. Participants chose different levels of access, from full publication to summaries or restrictions. Advisers recommended explaining these differences clearly, allowing the project to continue while respecting individual choices about what could be shared.

Original passage: An archive published a collection of photographs showing the construction of a railway station. Each image originally carried a date copied from an old notebook. After the pictures appeared online, a researcher noticed that one photograph showed a building that had not existed on the listed date. The archive checked other records and discovered that some notebook entries had been written years after the events. It corrected several labels but kept a visible record of what had changed and why. Staff were careful not to assign precise dates to photographs for which the evidence remained incomplete. The director said that public corrections should not be treated as proof that the entire collection was unreliable. Instead, they showed how additional evidence could improve descriptions while preserving the history of earlier interpretations.

Corrections improved descriptions but did not show that the entire collection was unreliable.
Q20 模範要約(67語): An archive published photographs of a railway station with dates copied from an old notebook. A researcher identified a conflict between one date and a building shown in an image. Further checks revealed that some entries were written later than the events. Staff corrected labels, documented the changes, and avoided guessing uncertain dates. The director argued that transparent corrections could improve the collection without discrediting every photograph.
