英検準1級の付加疑問文｜hardly・nobody・Let’s shall we・aren’t I【独自32問・全解説】

結論｜付加疑問文で混同しやすい6つの規則

• 肯定文には否定の付加疑問が一般的：She works here, doesn’t she?
• 否定文には肯定の付加疑問：She doesn’t work here, does she?
• nobody、never、nothing、hardly、rarelyも否定的な意味を持つため、肯定の付加部が基本。
• nobody・everyone・someoneなど人を表す主語をthey、nothing・everythingなどをitで受けることが多い。
• Let’s … はshall we?、I am … は通常aren’t I?、否定命令はwill you? が代表的。
• Yes/Noの返答は実際の事実に合わせる。You haven’t finished, have you?—No, I haven’t. は未完了。

上昇調は本当に尋ねたい場合、下降調は同意確認の場合などに使われます。ただしイントネーションだけで文の真偽を確定しないことも大切です。

nobodyは意味が否定的なので、通常はNobody came, did they?とします。

Yes / Noの返答が日本語と逆になるのはなぜ？

英語では事実が肯定ならYes、否定ならNoで答えます。You haven’t sent it, have you?に対して送っていなければNo, I haven’t.です。

I am … はamn’t I?と言えますか？

一般的な標準英語の会話ではaren’t I?が普通です。一部の地域的な形としてamn’t Iもありますが、本教材では標準的な形を練習します。
