英検5級の英語で誕生日・学校行事の日付を読むときは、May 3rd（5月3日）・June 21st（6月21日）のように、月名と序数を組み合わせて理解することが大切です。慶英会では12か月の英語名、1st・2nd・3rd・11th・21stなどの読み方を整理し、独自40問（基本24問・学校案内8問・読み上げ式8問）と全問解説を無料公開しました。
日本英語検定協会の英検5級Can-doリストにある日常の情報読み取りを補う教材です。ただし、正式なReadingは短文空所補充15問・会話文空所補充5問・語句整序5問で、学校案内の独立長文大問はありません（公式試験内容）。本ページの読み上げ練習には録音音声はありません。実際の音声確認には英検協会の公式音源を併用してください。公式形式確認：2026年10月26日。

JanuaryからDecemberまでの月名は大文字で書き始めます。May・Juneなど一部の月は短くて覚えやすい一方、February・September・Novemberはつづりを確認しましょう。英検5級の語彙復習だけでなく、学校英語の記述にも利用できます。

11th・12th・13thは末尾の数字だけで決めない
21st・22nd・23rdのように一の位から考える数字がある一方、11th・12th・13thは特別な形です。11st・12nd・13rdとは書きません。日付表現で迷いやすいため、声に出して練習します。

月だけならin May、特定の日付ならon May 3rdなどを使います。May 3やMay 3rd、3 Mayのように書式に幅がありますが、英語で読むときはMay thirdなどの序数の形を使います。
