Give me a book.とGive a book to me.は、どちらも「私に本をください」という意味です。 give＋人＋物（give me a book）とgive＋物＋to＋人（give a book to me）の2つの代表的な語順があります。show me a picture／show a picture to me、send Ken a message／send a message to Kenも同様です。

give me a bookとgive a book to meの違い

① give＋人＋物：Give me a pen.
I give Ken a pen.では、Kenは受け取る人、a penは渡す物です。人を表す代名詞はme・him・her・us・themなどの目的格が使われます。I give he a pen.ではなくI give him a pen.です。
② give＋物＋to＋人：Give a pen to me.
I give a pen to Ken.では、物a penの後にto Kenと続けます。toは渡す先を示します。give a pen meは基本形ではありません。
showとsendでも2つの形が使える
Show me the map.／Show the map to me.、Send her a letter.／Send a letter to her.のように書けます。動詞の種類によっては使える語順に制限があるため、どんな動詞でも必ず2つの形にできるとは覚えないでください。
Give it to me.はどうして覚えておくべき？
受け渡す物をitやthemなどの短い代名詞で示すときは、Give it to me.／Give them to me.の形が自然です。Give me it.は一般的な標準表現としては不自然なので、この教材では選択問題で無理に使わせません。
sendとgiveの意味の違い
giveは人に物を直接渡すなど、sendは物やメッセージを送る動作です。同じ人＋物の語順を使っても意味は同じになりません。Send me a letter.なら「手紙を送って」、Give me a letter.なら「手紙を渡して」という意味です。

復習｜相手と物を2つの色で区別する
I give Ken a pen.のKen（相手）とa pen（物）を別の色で囲み、I give a pen to Ken.に書き換えましょう。send・showでも同じ作業をします。文章を丸暗記するより、誰に何をするのかを区別するほうが新しい文にも対応しやすくなります。
翌日・3日後・7日後に誤答だけを再演習し、Give me a pen.／Give a pen to me.／Give it to me.を意味の違いとともに音読します。英検5級の語句整序問題と形式は異なるため、仕上げには公式過去問の語句整序5問も解いてください。
よくある質問
Q. Give me a book.とGive a book to me.はどちらも正しい？
はい。どちらも正しいです。人を先に続けるか、物を先にしてto＋人を続けるかという語順の違いです。
Q. Give I a pen.はなぜ間違い？
giveの後で受け取る人を代名詞にする場合、主格Iではなく目的格meを使います。Give me a pen.が正しい形です。
Q. Give it to me.とGive me it.はどちらが自然？
標準的な英語の基本学習ではGive it to me.が自然です。itなど短い代名詞が物を指す場合、物＋to＋人の形を優先しましょう。
Q. 英検5級に全文の書き換え問題はありますか？
5級の一次試験のReadingは選択式で、書き換えを全文記述する独立大問はありません。この教材は語順と代名詞を理解するための中1への発展練習です。
