黙読と音読は目的が違う

英検4級の一次Readingは35分で、短文・会話・語句整序・長文を選択式で解きます。Readingで発声して読む能力だけが問われるわけではありません。任意のスピーキングテストには別途音読がありますが、級認定の合否とは独立しています。英検4級公式の試験内容。

どちらを先にするか：3つの判断

1. 黙読で意味が分からない場合は、語彙・文法・主語と動詞の確認を先にする。
2. 黙読なら分かるが聞き取れない場合は、正しい公式音源と原稿を対応させる。
3. 黙読も音声も分かる場合は、別の初見問題で理解を確認し、必要に応じて音読する。
