I will introduce a vegetable soup that my family makes. My friend Emma will explain how to make a simple fruit dessert.

Could you prepare two questions about foods that students enjoy in our town? Please send them by Thursday morning so I can check the English.

We already have your cooking-club photographs, so you do not need to send them again.

Four students at a junior high school helped a small history museum create a new guide for visitors. The museum had an audio guide on a tablet, but some visitors said they could not hear the words clearly. Other visitors wanted to read the information quietly.

At first, the students made the recording louder. They tested it with five visitors. Three said the new sound was easier to hear, but two still wanted a different way to get the information.

Mina suggested making a printed guide with the same information. The group wrote short English sentences, checked the names and dates with the museum staff, and added large page numbers.

The following week, five different visitors tried both the tablet and the printed guide. Four said that having a choice was helpful.

One student said that the test proved the new guide would help everyone. Their teacher reminded the group that only a few visitors had been asked, and the two groups were different people. The students decided to gather more comments and improve the guide again.

They learned that giving visitors more than one way to understand information can be useful, and that good information must also be checked for accuracy.

  1. Why did some museum visitors want a different guide?

    1. The museum was closed.
    2. The tickets were too expensive.
    3. They could not hear clearly or wanted to read quietly.
    4. The tablets had no photographs.
  2. What did Mina suggest?

    1. Making a printed guide.
    2. Closing the museum.
    3. Buying a larger screen.
    4. Moving the exhibits outdoors.
  3. What did the group check with museum staff?

    1. The price of lunch.
    2. The names and dates.
    3. The number of buses.
    4. The weather for next week.
  4. How many visitors said that having a choice was helpful?

    1. Two.
    2. Three.
    3. Five.
    4. Four.
  5. Why could the students not say the new guide would help everyone?

    1. The visitors were all students.
    2. There were no comments.
    3. Only a few different visitors had been tested.
    4. The museum had stopped using tablets.

  1. 正答 C:They could not hear clearly or wanted to read quietly.
