英検3級EメールでWhat did you plan to do?（何をする予定だった？）とWhat actually happened?（実際には何が起きた？）が並んだら、計画と結果を別々に説明する必要があります。慶英会の独自8通40課題では雨天・施設の閉鎖・交通手段・予想外の数字など8つの変更を、過去形・but・insteadを使って15〜25語でまとめる練習をします。
結論｜planは当初の予定、actually happenedは実際の出来事
これからの計画と用途を英語で説明：What will you bring・What will you use it forの独自8通40課題で、過去の予定・実際と、未来の持参品・目的の違いを練習できます。
We planned to practice outside. But it rained, so we practiced inside.のように答えます。planned to＋動詞原形は『〜する予定だった』、but・howeverは計画との対比、insteadは『代わりに』です。didがある質問では、過去の出来事の説明に過去形を使います。
英検協会の3級公式試験内容では、ライティングにEメール返信が含まれ、相手の2質問に答えることが重要です。返信本文15〜25語を目安とします。今回の8通・全英文・設問・解答は慶英会が独自に作った練習問題で、公式過去問ではありません。
予定・結果・理由を示す表現

計画に関する質問は実際に実行したかを問うものではありません。We planned to go to the aquarium.とWe went to the museum.は別の事実です。受信メールのWhat did you plan?とWhat happened?を混同しないよう、解答前に2つの情報を書き出します。

復習で確認する3つの判断
①planned toの後ろの動詞は原形か。②実際の出来事の動詞は過去形か。③最初の予定を結果として書いていないか。例えばWe planned to take the bus.とWe traveled by train.を取り違えないことが重要です。
3日間の復習方法
- 1日目：計画と実際を各8文ずつ書き分ける
- 2日目：模範を隠し15〜25語の返信8通を書く
- 3日目：学校行事の実際の経験に題材を入れ替えて作文する
よくある質問
What actually happened?に予定を書いてもよいですか？
実際に起きたことを聞いているので、最初の予定だけでは不足します。実際の結果や変更後の行動を具体的に答えてください。
insteadの位置はどこが自然ですか？
We traveled by train instead.のように文末に置くと分かりやすいです。Instead, we traveled by train.も自然です。
理由を必ず書かなければいけませんか？
質問が計画と結果だけなら理由は必須とは限りません。15〜25語の中で説明の助けになる場合にだけbecauseやsoを加えます。
