英検3級Eメールで「What did you notice?」と「What did you change?」が出たときは、気付いた問題と自分たちが変えた点を分けて答えます。慶英会の独自8通40課題で、学校生活の改善を題材に、発見・変更を表す過去形と15〜25語の返信を練習します。

結論｜noticeは気付いた事実、changeは変更した行動

What did you notice? → I noticed that the room was noisy. / What did you change? → We moved the chairs.と答えます。noticed that …の後ろは気付いた内容を説明する文、changed／moved／addedなどの後ろは実際に変えたことを説明します。

英検3級の公式試験内容では、WritingにEメール返信があり相手の2質問へ答えます。本文15〜25語を目安にした慶英会のオリジナル練習問題です。公式過去問を転載したものではありません。

気付きと改善を表す基本文型

英語の質問・表現役割例
What did you notice?気付いた点The sign was too small.
What did you change?実際の変更We made a larger sign.
I noticed that …気付いたことを文章で説明I noticed that it was dark.
We moved / added …行動・修正We added another lamp.

「こうしたら良かったと思う」という提案と、実際に行った変更は異なります。What did you change?には本当に行った変更を過去形で答える練習をします。効果が出たと証拠なしに断定する必要はありません。

8場面40課題の学習手順

  1. 問題1：気付いた課題を日本語で説明する
  2. 問題2：変更した行動を日本語で説明する
  3. 問題3：2質問への短い英語の答えを作る
  4. 問題4：15〜25語の返信本文にまとめる
  5. 問題5：変更内容が不足した答案を修正する

  1. 1番目の質問が求めている内容を日本語で答えなさい。

よくある質問

What did you notice?には感想だけでもよいですか？

I enjoyed it.だけでは何に気付いたかが分かりません。I noticed that the sign was too small.など具体的な事実を答えましょう。

What did you change?には提案を書けばよいですか？

質問は過去に変えたことを聞いています。I wanted to …などの希望だけでなく、We moved …やWe added …など実際に行った変更を答えます。

気付いた問題が解決したと書く必要がありますか？

いいえ。質問に答えればよく、改善の効果を根拠なく断定する必要はありません。
