結論｜理由は「大きな言葉」より、具体的な変化まで言えるものを選ぶ
英検2級の英作文で止まる原因は、英語力だけとは限りません。「理由を2つ書いて」と言われた瞬間に、何を理由にすればよいか決められないことがあります。そこで、主張→理由→具体例の3段階に分けます。
例えば「学生は地域活動に参加すべきか」というテーマなら、「Yes」だけで終わらせず、It can help students understand their communities. → For example, they may learn about local problems by working with residents. と具体化します。公式試験では英作文1題が出題されます。現在の2級一次試験はReading・Writing85分です。公式の試験内容を基準にしてください。
理由が思いつかないときの5軸
- 時間：早くなる、時間を節約できる。
- 費用：お金を節約できる、費用が増える。
- 安全：事故やトラブルを減らせる。
- 学習・成長：技能や知識が身につく。
- 環境・社会：地域や周囲に良い影響がある。
独自24課題｜30秒で理由を決める
各テーマで、Yes/Noを決めた後、理由を1文、具体例を1文だけ英語で作ってください。

模範の作り方｜6つの代表例
1. Tablets：I agree because tablets can make learning more convenient. For example, students can quickly check information and use digital materials during class.
3. Public transportation：I agree because it can reduce traffic problems. For example, if more people use trains and buses, fewer cars may be needed on busy roads.
7. Volunteering：I agree because students can learn about their communities. For example, working with local residents may help them understand real social problems.
9. Later classes：I agree because students may be able to concentrate better. For example, getting enough sleep can help students stay alert in morning classes.
10. Food waste：I agree because reducing waste can save resources. For example, restaurants and families can plan meals more carefully and throw away less food.
20. Presentations：I agree because students can improve their communication skills. For example, repeated short presentations can help them explain ideas more clearly.
理由と具体例を同じ内容にしない
「Students can learn many things. For example, students can learn many things at school.」では、具体例になっていません。理由が抽象的なら、具体例では「誰が・何を・どうする」を追加します。理由＝効果、具体例＝その効果が起こる場面、と考えると書きやすくなります。
語数を増やすためだけの文を入れない
英作文は語数を満たすために意味のない一般論を増やすより、理由と具体例を明確にした方が安定します。語数調整では、接続詞の追加、具体的な名詞、短い説明を使い、難しい表現を無理に入れません。
よくある質問
理由は必ず2つ同じ強さで書くべきですか？
形式上は指定された内容を守ることが重要です。各理由を別の観点として明確にし、具体例を添えて説明できるようにします。
具体例が思いつきません。
学校、家庭、地域、仕事、買い物、交通など身近な場面に置き換えると作りやすくなります。
英語が難しくて書けません。
難しい単語より、主語＋動詞＋目的語などの基本文を正確に書きます。使える表現を少数固定する方が実戦的です。
